DOES THIS GUY HAVE A PULSE? If so I say Ajum by KO in the 8th
Manny_P 04-25-2006, 08:47 PM Jones Jr is too old.....
Derranged 04-25-2006, 08:49 PM Anyone ever see Ajamu? He any good?
rocco1252 04-25-2006, 08:50 PM Jones Jr is too old.....
hes not too old hes too gun shy, he's lost his edge since he found out he's not invincable. If he goes into this fight with confidence and trains hard and is able to throw punches in the round instead of show boating this will be a typical easy victory for RJJ.

Roy should stay retired. What's the purpose of fighting? He filthy rich already and he lost his last 3 fights embarrasingly. There's no way he beats the top guys in the division anyways.

Roy Jones still has the drive to be the best but i dont think he has the physical skills , to help him be the best again.

very true he doesnt have what it takes to be the best anymore too many young good fighters out there and he's gun shy and you cant be the best when your gun shy plain and simple. Should he take the fight hell yeah he should if he can get in there and fight and people will watch it why not but I dont think he is going to be on top ever again thats not what I was saying by any means. But he does still have some left in his tank we just havent seen it in a while.
mokele 04-25-2006, 09:05 PM I thought Roy Jones Jr. was done after his last loss, but now he shows that he's determined to make us all forget what a rare athlete and great fighter that he once was. He's on a similar path that Sugar Ray Leonard took, fighting until he's so obviously washed-up that boxing fans start feeling sorry for him. I would consider it a mild upset if he even wins this fight.

is pretty good, but his record suggests that he's not a big puncher nor is he the slickest boxer around either. I've never seen him. He was very busy in 2004 with 5 fights that year. He's 34 years old having started his pro career at the age of 28, almost 29. I suppose that he's the right kind of guy for Jones to fight if he wants to continue his career but not take a big risk as far as his health is concerned.

good post k coming your way
DiegoFuego 04-25-2006, 09:16 PM LOL, I hope they build to Jones vs. Calzaghe so we can see Roy knocked out for the third time!
borikua 04-25-2006, 09:18 PM What a joke...
Da Iceman 04-25-2006, 09:21 PM he needs to stick to rap. he doesnt have the mental edge, he's past prime, and losing physical ability. he already has a built legacy with loads of money why go ruin it.
DiegoFuego 04-25-2006, 10:23 PM No one is intimidated by Jones anymore so how is he gonna win fights? It's not a dance competition after all :D
gattifan24 04-25-2006, 10:41 PM He wants a tuneup fight so I guess this is what that is. Why does he need a tuneup? He lost 3 straight. He just doesn't have it anymore. What would winnign this fight prove?
yrrej 04-25-2006, 10:43 PM Jones needs to hang it up....
keystone30pack 04-25-2006, 10:48 PM at least he is taking a fight agains someone who is unlikely to hurt him as the record suggests
he should've done that the first time w/ tune up fights- too late now i hope he does well though , don't want to see him hurt
.::EnRiQuE::. 04-25-2006, 10:50 PM No one is intimidated by Jones anymore so how is he gonna win fights? It's not a dance competition after all :D
so u hate Roy JOnes jr. and Zab Judah...alright i just wanted to be sure
Easy-E 04-25-2006, 10:52 PM the prince's trainet is buddy mcgirt...interesting.
I think roy will win this fight but it will result in him facing top competiton again which probably wont bode well.
I know this is a delusion, but just imagine if roy is actully right when he said, "can't nobody beat me but tarver." Could you imagine if he won this fight and then fought joe c and won!?!
and after that, fought tarver and knocked him out?!?!
sorry, i guess i just like to think about things like that...
GreatestIam 04-25-2006, 10:56 PM All you guys sleeping on roy are gonna regret dat ****, okay his lost his last three fights but dats it if this guy believes he still has it im to big of a ****ing fan to doubt him
dafish298 04-25-2006, 10:59 PM PBF34, i dont think that is far from the truth. Not in the fact that RJJ will win all the fights, but I think that is the path he wants to take. When he beats this prince guy (yes, unlike the other 95% i think rjj will win) He will land a big fight with calzaghe and IF he somehow wins that fight he COULD try and land a final fight with tarver if tarver beats Hopkins this summer (which i think he will do). Of course RJJ could retire if he beats calzaghe just as easily, its a pretty even toss up. I also think if RJJ loses anymore fights, regardless of the opponent he will definitely retire.
mayweather 04-26-2006, 12:30 AM i love roy. hes on the greats and theres no doubt about it. but
HE
NEEDS
TO
QUIT
or fight calzaghe
:D
Undefeated 04-26-2006, 12:33 AM If Jones losses this fight... Ima have to say DAMN! Just hang them up. I hope he wins though...
Superman RJJ 04-26-2006, 03:49 AM Roy is a legend people and is a Future Hall of Famer so people should respect his decision anyone who is involved with boxing will know that when boxing is in your veins then it`s not a thing that you can do easily and just walk out, I beleave Roy still has that killer instinct and that he may just need a new trainer to give him new ideas Merkerson just isnt doing that anymore I have seen him in between rounds he doesnt say anything Roy needs a Freddy Roach or a Buddy McGirt to get in his face and tell him some home truths
Super_Lightweight 04-26-2006, 05:57 PM Roy does not have a killer instinct. He has said so himself as recently as a month ago on ESPN...said that his drive comes and goes. Peppered with the usual "but if I'm on my game I'm unstoppable".
Roy's body was destroyed on a cellular level by the 1st Tarver fight and what he had to do to make that fight happen. He gets winded now after throwing a few combos. He will never be the same.
He might be able to beat this guy though, just on experience.

BloodClot 04-27-2006, 01:08 PM put a fork in Roy J Jr he well done!
DiegoFuego 04-27-2006, 01:10 PM The Roy Jones Jr. gets KO'ed Tour continues
Tyrant 04-27-2006, 01:18 PM Show Time Must Be Desperate, But I Cant Front , I Will Watch The Fight ...
Kball15 04-27-2006, 06:09 PM his reflexes are shot.
realheavyhands 04-27-2006, 08:22 PM very true he doesnt have what it takes to be the best anymore too many young good fighters out there and he's gun shy and you cant be the best when your gun shy plain and simple. But he does still have some left in his tank we just havent seen it in a while.
its the other way around he has the physical skills he doesnt have the drive or what i call the hunger hes too rich to be fighting he doesnt have anything to fight for, fighters fight cuz there poor and after that to be a legend ,he already done both, after that what the hell is there, if he wants to fight for fun he shouldnt fight anybody who has a chance and give some bums who dedicated there life to the sport and have nothing to show for some ok paydays
Mike_R 04-28-2006, 09:56 AM what i'm getting from this is that either rjj wants to retire on a win, or he's about to start fighting journeymen for money/prolonged exposure/possible (and probably undeserved) title shot.
either way this fight should serve as a good catalyst for if he should just give it up or not. if he loses this then he needs to stay home and enjoy life.
RAESAAD 04-28-2006, 10:02 AM He is trying reall hard to get that 50th win........
