who would win in a rematch?

I think it would be a repeat of the first match, maybe even end by a late TKO. If Lyakhovixh is careful and well-prepared he could handle it.
Hard to say though...

he couldnt tko brewster, because now we know he can take a punch.

that detached retina certainly was a factor in this fight. brewster had his moments where he probly couldve TKOd lyko in the later rounds.

if he can keep his sight, he might do just that.

I wouldn't be too sure about that, anything could happen at this time period at the HW division. I didn't expect Lyakovich to win in the 1st place, he just kinda came out of nowhere.

i think lemon bruiser would train harder for a rematch and then we could see a trilogy.

I'll go with Brewster to win it by a knockout. I'll buy the detached retina factor.

Nothing would change except Lyakhovich might win by ko/tko.The jab will still be in Brewster's face and since he has an eye problem that's even worse for him.

I picked Sergei because I think he took just a TON of bombs against Wlad and Sergei so I question what may be left of him. He might be fine but it wouldn't shock if he were never quite the same. He was nearly out a few times (as was Sergei) but I'll go with Sergei by late stoppage

The bottom line is the uncertainty of this fight makes it very exciting! :)

You guys are bashing Lyakovich over his defeat of Brewster saying Brester didnt train...

With new trainer Buddy McGirt in his corner, Lamon Brewster has nothing but confidence. "This is the best training camp that I can honestly say I have ever had," Brewster said. "Working with Buddy McGirt has been a fulfilled dream of mine and I think he is the best trainer alive. Going into this fight, I have the utmost confidence because for the first time in a very long time, I have confidence in my corner as well going into a fight." "I think Sergei is a good fighter and I will not take anything away from him," Brewster said. "It is not what you do in the past, it is what you do that night. I am not going into this fight expecting anything less of him than to put his best foot forward because guys do tend to get up when you are fighting for a world title."

Brewster weighed a total of 3-4 pounds more than his prime rate. I say this too you, while Brewster has been my favorite HW for a couple years. I like him because he will fight anyone.

Brewster has no chance of winning by UD, his only chance of winning is by KO. He is not a skillful heavyweight by any means but one with knockout power, and punches that can change direction of the fight quickly. However, Liakhovich showed that those punches will not effect him by taking the knee and recovering quickly when he was in trouble. In the rematch Brewster has to go to the body, that is his key to victory.

it wouldnt hurt either of them to lose a few pounds. then his body shots would really start to take effect.

Brewster is capable of performing a bit better than he did against Lyakhovich, Krasniqi can tell you all about it. As to whether Brewster will perform better is another matter. He 's got himself a new trainer, the same guy who screwed up Tarver and Gatti. I suspect if he continues with McGirt, Brewster will lose the next fight.

Uhhhh, Krasnigi was winning on every judges score card...
