This is very serious and I wish him a speedy recovery but you probably should have posted this in the lounge.

I'm offering prayers for him.

Let's not look at him as a mere titular head of a religious sect. Let's look at him as one of the greatest leaders the world has ever known (he IS a world leader being the head of an independent state, the Vatican). Let's look at the very active and tireless (despite his age!) roles he played for world peace, unity and reconciliation, most significantly in the downfall of communism in the Eastern Bloc.

Does that mean he's pulling out of his WBA title challenge then?

Agreed. He's as tough as they come. Toughest Pole of all time? Of course, he would give credit to God. And that's as it should be.

He's an incredible man, and though as a Catholic I love, honor, and respect him, if it's his time to die then it's his time to die. When he does die, I'm not gonna be mourning his death, but celebrating the long years of service, and marvelling at his life. Really if you haven't heard everything that he's done, even if you're Protestant or mortally opposed to Catholicism, you should get yourself a hold of his biography. It'll blow your mind.

I think he is better now,
but he is one of those persons who no one can hate
no matter what religion you belong to, you like him.

God Bless his heart

Why don't you become and altar boy and find out..
If he tries to "wrestle" with you make sure you say, "NO!!"..
Because these kind of people have been known to rub on little boys..

Sure he and the church have done some good things but how the **** can any catholic (I was baptized catholic) get over the fact that the church has looked past it's preists ****ing little boys, it is too bad he could not have played a role with so many young niave boys...where the **** were you pope when they really needed you?

The hierarchy of the church knew about these wrongdoings for decades and instead of doing anything about it they quietly paid off the families and transfered the priest/rapists.

Imagine a fire chief who knew one of his firefighters was deliberately setting fires...instead of turning him in he simply transfers the firefighter to another precinct. This is what happened in the church and the church didn't just do this a few times over a few years...they had been doing this for decades.

I wish the pope no harm...I hope he either goes very peacefully or somehow is healed by allah or whoever...but...to hold this man and his church in such high estime is in my mind wrong, think of all the people they really could have saved had they had the balls to stand up to what was truly right, instead all the church cared about was saving face. The church and it's hierarchy deserves exactly what they have dished out to so many young boys...a good **** in the ass...

No I was never an alter boy!

Pope Rushed (again) to Hospital With Flu Relapse
(AP 2/24/05) - Pope John Paul II was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance Thursday suffering from a relapse of the flu, a fever and congestion, the Vatican said, a day after the pontiff made his longest public appearance since being discharged from the clinic two weeks ago. The 84-year-old pontiff had the same symptoms of the breathing crisis that sent him to Gemelli Polyclinic on Feb. 1.

Let's put aside all personal enmities and religious affiliations or inclinations and offer a little prayer for a GREAT man of peace.

How can you have respect for the Catholic Church they have taken Everything God stands for and put in his place fear and Lies.
That Wafer is no flesh of Jesus neither is the wine his Blood.
Jesus said once on the Cross "IT IS FINISHED" over, kaputski, finito etc etc
No more sacrifice yet they "sacrifice" the Son of God millions of times daily.
They say God is a Liar.
The billion Catholics around the world are in big trouble and the Catholic church is to blame.

What has the pope ever done for me????
Seriously, i really dont know.

As other posters have already stated, the world would be a better place WITHOUT the fear mongering, hypocrisy, and self deciet the catholic church stand for.

What does the pope do...anyone?
