Actually, I think kimbo would have a good shot. Abbot got ****ed up by so many weak hitters, so I don't know why you think he has a proven chin, but abbot wouldn't be easy

The only time Kimbo stepped up in class and fought a pro fighter was against Gannon who beat his ass. This was under rules meant to favor Kimbo who isn't a grappler. If Gannon was allowed to use submissions and his knees that fight would have been over in three minutes or less. You talk about the lack of round breaks but Gannon had to fight under those conditions as well, yet he proved himself to be better conditioned fighter (despite being heavier and of a much higher bodyfat percent than Kimbo)by far.

Kimbo is overrated. The guy can punch and he looks imposing but there are many guys in the world who fit that description. Tank is an example of one of them, who also has skill in striking and grappling as well as experience fighting on the world class level. Tank possesses everything Kimbo does and more.

Everyone's high on Kimbo because of the video where he ruins a guy's eye in his own backyard but most pro heavyweight boxers are going to do that if they punch you bare fisted with full power. I think people would be surprised at the damage even a relatively light hitter like Byrd could do without any gloves.

Kimbo will gain my respect the day he starts beating someone who has proven that he can fight. Beating on little fat guys with dreadlocks just doesn't impress me.

Good post. yeah kimbo is highly overrated, but I still think he'd beat Tank since tank likes to brawl, and from what I've seen, can't take a clean shot, and with kimbo's power, tank would crumble, imho

Kimbo's chin is very good. People say he was dropped a few times by Gannon but a lot of it had to do with him being exhausted. He let a guy punch him in the face a few times. I dunno but you gotta have a chin to just take a few bare knuckled punches in the face like that. He is a bit overrated i guess.

I hope fight some time again though.

Gannon knocks him down with a right hand maybe 30-40 seconds into the fight but Kimbo grabs his right leg as he's going down. In a boxing match, it would have been a legit knockdown and Kimbo would have been given the ten count. I have yet to see him get whacked by a real professional heavyweight boxer but I have a feeling his chin is not as good as it looks against the big black guy throwing arm punches. Gannon does not appear to be a very good puncher and he was able to knock him down early with a decent right hand, so I say Shannon Briggs, Mesi, or any other good heavyweight puncher would have him in serious trouble the instant they landed flush.

I would agree with Kid Achilles, Kimbo is simply an internet gimmick. As much as i like his persona (he is a good, respectable guy) he couldnt beat a pro fighter. This is not to say he isnt a prospect for the future, coz he definately has talent.

To your normal everyday kid Kimbo looks unbeatable, but cmon we are boxing fans we know different.

you get any good puncher without gloves and they'll mess up the opposition

I've seen the 3 Kimbo fights on the net and he is obviously a hard man for sure but against limited opposition,Tank on the other hand has faught at the highest level in mma against some of the worlds best fighters.
