Anybody else planning on getting this when it comes out?


"JAPAN'S MOST influential gaming rag has bestowed its top score on the latest edition of Final Fantasy.

Famitsu, which is not known for lavishing praise on too many games, gave Final Fantasy XII a perfect ten.

The new instalment of the all-conquering Fantasy will be one of only six games to ever get the perfect score.

Previous winners have been the classic The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Vagrant Story, Soul Calibur, and the less classic Nintendogs.

FF is also the only title on the PS2 to ever make the grade. Famitsu's reviewers said the game's graphics, scenario design, and game system, gave the somewhat aging Final Fantasy series a "certain freshness".

It hits the shops on March 16."

Vagrant Story got perfect 10?? correct me if im wrong.. vagrant sucks.. blue dungeon..green dungeon( the most worst repetitive rpg since tales of destiny 1)..vagrant is an average rpg game and only got props on its innovative gameplay...

They sucked dude. Everybody overrates the Final Fantasy series because VII was the first ultra-main stream one that set a lot of people into their first RPG game.

9 was good, but not spectacular. 10 sucked, 11 was the MMORPG that was mediocre at best, and 10 2 blew just as much as 10.

My bad.. I guess that's it was their last 3.

haha.I enjoyed em more.Ive tried a few other RPG's and 8,9,10 would blow them away,so I wouldnt say theyre overrated.The only one i stayed away from was X2.That was real pointless.And i never played the online one,but yeah it has real stiff competition if when compared to PC MMORPG

Ive been looking forward to FF12 for a while.Theres this other game called Rogue Galaxy that looks real good too.

As far as best RPG's, they've been on a steady decline for a long time. I don't remember the last "new" good one I played. Oldies but goodies included: Chrono Trigger, FFVII, FFII, Chrono Cross, Earthbound, and Lunar I/II.

I watched a gameplay video at gametrailers.com that showed off a lot of the combat and its still looks like the same junk Square has been pedaling for the last few years.

Thats what I'm saying anyone who gives Vagrant Story a 10 has horrible taste. Vagrant Story was one of the worst experiences I ever had. I rented that game because of the hype and it made me despise the PS 1 and go back to playing the PC.

Its obvious you and E. prefer PC games,thats cool,but its like comparing apples and oranges if youre comparing pc and console,and this a Sony exclusive game.and top of that I know atleast E. prefers the green box console,which is just a PC in a greencase. :cool:

Final Fantasy XII looks good. But i don't think it's going to live up to a perfect 10... But im still going to get it. As for Rouge Galaxy. I think this game is going to TKO all RPG's when it comes out. Also another Japanese RPG that is soon going to come out for PS2 in america it's called Tales of the Abyss. I swear that game is going to take over! Check the videos out you will see what im talking about! I just want to play it cause the battle system looks good.

FF 7 = The best one.
FF 8 = Ok but i didn't really like it as much.
FF 9 = I liked alot.. Still haven't finished it im on disc 3 but it's ****ed up!
FF X = That game is very good also.
FF X2= OK... but not as good as X.
FF IX= I never played..

Rouge Galaxy and Tales of the Abyss are going to take over.. If any of ya played Dark Cloud 2 then those people made Rouge Galaxy.. You know that **** is going to be good.

with just a boot disc u put in people willing to do that cause its just put in a disc then put in the copied disc real simple

the ps2 u gotta install a fliptop which sounds hard to people so many are so dumb they dont do that even though it takes 5 minutes
then u just swap discs or at least i have heard and read about this :D

i share your thoughts on this... FF7 started the craze, great story, great characters... 8 and 9 were great too, but i liked 9 better than 8... FFX scratched out the world map instead making the teleport sphere (forgot what it was called) and IMO, it didn't help the game... made it too easy... story was shallow... but blitzball was better than the cards, hehe... X2, didn't even dare to play... maybe the programmers dedicated to a pop star in japan, mwahahahahaha

I prefer whatever plays the best, nothing more, nothing less. For instance, if you take my current game choices into effect I'm not even touching my xbox. Playing Oblivion on the computer and MLB the Show on PS2.

I'm not a big PC gamer. With the right specs and what not I would rather play Oblivion on the PC but I dont have them so I'm a console gamer for now. Playing Oblivion, WE 9, and NBA 2k6.

Piracy wont ever come close to being as bad as it is on the PC and people still buy PC games. Even when someone figures out how to decrypt ripped games there will be different encryptions, patches, and other options. Most likely software prices will drop and you will be able to buy games online.

A game such as Oblivion I'd definitely rather play on my computer as opposed to a consul. Patches, fun tools, etc to download to mess with it alone is worth. Couple that with the fact that a game with so much depth is much easier when you can use a mouse and be exact much quicker as opposed to having to use your thumb-sticks. 50 keys + a mouse as opposed to a single controller. Option was easy for me.

Of course I'm only speaking as to what my rational was, not Jarlaxle's.

yeah but u missing the point
its not about what console its about the media of the discs
when ps2 came out and xbox came out people still werent very good at copying dvds
now everyones pro at it

ps2 is highly pirated now and so is xbox
really ps2 most likely is more pirated cause its more widespread system
but the only people that could pirate games on ps2 or xbox are people that went to the trouble to get some sort of modification to their system which meant opening the system up

many if not most are too scared to open their systems cause they dont wanna break them

dreamcast all you had to do was copy cds and u could just put the games in with no modding needed

xbox 360 thats about to be the case with the boot disc and people are good at burning dvds now so its no problem for a ton of people

if u can burn a dvd movie u can burn a game

it wont be possible or plausable to burn ps3 games at first cause blue ray burners and blue ray discs will be so expensive that itll be a couple years before people are burning those games much

thats not to say it wont happen of course it will but a couple years after the ps3 is already well established

xbox360 is having widespread problems of malfunctions and crap

at all three the walmarts near me none of those xbox360 display models are working anymore

and if or when that boot disc gets released like the swap magic discs u better believe that thing will get popular as ever and people will just download xbox360 games from torrents or friends will go in 5 and 6 friends to buy 1 game

im sure the next batch of xbox360s will get fixed and wont mess up cause problems happen with every system on launch of course so thats not a huge deal but its definitely more widespread than most systems

i dont remember hearing all those errors being on the news for the xbox or ps2 or any other system really

pc games ur right people do buy them although they are widely pirated too
seems like many if not most pc games also go to consoles though and pcs do more than a xbox and ps2

cause ok u can build a custom pc right now and have better specs than the xbox360 and ps3 but there are more console gamers by far i believe

There is a fundamental problem with your gigantic, long-winded, pile of **** post lost guy. I'm all for pirating. My PS2 is modded so I can download games from the internet onto its hard drive and one of my xbox's is modded to copy every game I ever need to play onto it.

Lol its not by choice. My PC peaked with Morrowind. with the excpetion of ROMs and Fallout 2. I hardly use it for games... So the end result is me not being a PC gamer.

I would rather play Oblvion on a PC with a 360 controller if I had my choice in the matters.
