Three 11-year-old boys and a 10-year-old girl tried to hijack a school bus Friday morning, Pennsylvania state police told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

One boy held a knife to the driver's neck as she guided the bus down a rural road in Oliver, near Punxsutawney in the central part of the state.

He ordered driver Janet McQuown to stop the bus and get off, after which the pint-sized hoodlums apparently planned to drive the bus 2,000 miles themselves.

But McQuown, 52, wouldn't be cowed, calmly telling the boy to give her the knife. After she asked several times, he handed it over.

"They know I mean business," she told the Post-Gazette. "There was no question about it."

McQuown said she never raised her voice, but was firm and quick-witted.

"It all happened so fast that I didn't have time to be afraid," she said. "It was over in 30 seconds."



I would have beat the **** out of the kid and said it was self defense!

What the hell is wrong with kids these days? Freakin craziness.

Kids today are ****ing disrespecting little bastards. Parents have a lot to do with this out of control behavior.

Agreed that parents have a lot to do with it, but my biggest grudge and finger pointing is at the law. You can not hit or scold your child to severely. You are to put them in a timeout. Give me a break. Now, there is an extreme, beating the **** out of your kid because they wont finish their veggies is a bit overboard, but when they throw them at you and tell you to shove them up your ass..... Time to beat some respect into them. DHS gets involved with family life to much. They need to mind their own business except in the extreme cases.

Those kids are too young to know that they are even hurting anoybody. I bet some over zealous prosecutor is going to try the kid as an adult and try to get him locked up for 25 years.

To think it was all to go to nevada, never mind threatening a bus driver with a deadly weapon, that is the worst crime, wanting to go to nevada.

Boy, grade schoolers are living it up these days banging there teachers, hijacking school buses--more power to 'em. :)

hell these kids in dallas found a bag with just under 40k in cash and they went nutts spending the money like there was no tomorrow, it was believe to have been drug money (from someone else) this guy was going around school frisking kids and looking for his money,telling kids that he was going to kill whoever took his money, the guy later turned himself in and said that the money came from a deal with a Mortagage deal

WTF damm crazy kids. How about the kids that drew pictures of killing a classmate and are now being charged with intent.

Those kids were probably harassed mercilessly in juvy for getting scolded/turned in by a 50-year plus old female bus driver
