View Full Version : Jermaine Taylor's next fight += El Jefe=+ 02-01-2005, 10:30 AM why the **** is this kid Daniel Eduard getting a shoot to the championship. i think is more of a sparring match for Taylor DiegoFuego 02-01-2005, 10:40 AM The same guy Hopkins beat, dude PRboxingfan 02-01-2005, 11:00 AM I'm convinced neither one of you knows what they are talking about. Daniel Edouard is a tough kid with a great chin and a heavy right hand. This is no sparing match for Jermain Taylor. Did anyone see the fight between Edouard and Willie Gibbs? That was fight of the year material right there. Also, Jermain is not a champion (unless you cound that alphabet-soup belt that he has but which nobody would consider a real belt). The only champion in the division is Bernard Hopkins. DiegoFuego, Hopkins did not beat Edouard (as the "Hatian Sensation" is unbeaten). jreng1 02-01-2005, 11:26 AM Well if PRboxingfan is right then its nice to finally see Taylor in a tough fight. jack_the_rippuh 02-01-2005, 12:13 PM He's fighting Hopkins' left-overs and trying to beat them all in a more impressive fashion so people could say, "He'll beat Hopkins." But him and his camp know they want no part of Hopkins.. PRboxingfan 02-01-2005, 01:03 PM He's fighting Hopkins' left-overs and trying to beat them all in a more impressive fashion so people could say, "He'll beat Hopkins." But him and his camp know they want no part of Hopkins.. The only leftover from a Hopkins fight was Joppy. We can also say it's Tito's leftover, then. Taylor has not fought anyone else that Hopkins has fought. DiegoFuego 02-01-2005, 01:04 PM I'm almost certain Hopkins fought this guy, but boxrec.com can always prove me wrong. I'll look it up later. oldgringo 02-01-2005, 01:06 PM I'm almost certain Hopkins fought this guy, but boxrec.com can always prove me wrong. I'll look it up later. Hopkins never fought him...now drop it. Floydmayweather 02-01-2005, 01:44 PM This kid is a real good puncher and can take a punch. If Taylor wins it really jumps up his crediablity. Truth 02-01-2005, 01:54 PM HBO is giving its subscribers a treat by putting Hopkins and Taylor on the same card. This is going to be a great double header. Mr. Ryan 02-01-2005, 01:56 PM Daniel Edouard is a tough guy from West Palm Beach, FL. He has a good right hand, a good chin, and puts relentless pressure on his opponents. His best fight was his FNF Shootout with Willie Gibbs last year. He came back from being stunned in the first to KO Gibbs in the 4th. It was a Fight of the Year type performance. This will certainly be the toughest test of Taylor's career. Floydmayweather 02-01-2005, 01:56 PM no doubt, we are going to find out if Taylor is the real deal now. :) Atman 02-01-2005, 02:08 PM Eduoard is a good prospect himself. He has some skills, decent pop, and most importantly, he's not afraid of throwing his hands. Taylor is finally in with someone who is going to test his chin. PRboxingfan 02-01-2005, 02:44 PM Daniel Edouard is a tough guy from West Palm Beach, FL. He has a good right hand, a good chin, and puts relentless pressure on his opponents. Haha, I could've swore I said the same thing a few posts back. oldgringo 02-01-2005, 02:48 PM Haha, I could've swore I said the same thing a few posts back. That's what I was thinking. Mr. Ryan 02-01-2005, 02:48 PM Haha, I could've swore I said the same thing a few posts back. I don't actually read the posts, I just say what it is I got to say and I'm out like that. oldgringo 02-01-2005, 02:49 PM I don't actually read the posts, I just say what it is I got to say and I'm out like that. Then why'd you read that one^? Mr. Ryan 02-01-2005, 02:52 PM Then why'd you read that one^? I see who quotes or mentions me, and then I respond to those. AintGottaClue 02-01-2005, 08:40 PM ya this is taylors real test sturm will beat taylor though ^^ whdempsey 02-01-2005, 09:32 PM I'm convinced neither one of you knows what they are talking about. The only champion in the division is Bernard Hopkins. DiegoFuego, Hopkins did not beat Edouard (as the "Hatian Sensation" is unbeaten). Thank God there was at least one real boxing fan here. I was stunned when I saw this topic. whdempsey 02-01-2005, 09:35 PM Eduoard is a good prospect himself. He has some skills, decent pop, and most importantly, he's not afraid of throwing his hands. Taylor is finally in with someone who is going to test his chin. You are correct sir. Personally, I'm kinda pulling for Edouard. The way he's wroking his way through the ranks reminds me a little of Hopkins or Hagler. He really impresses me. Before the fight with Taylor was made, he was gonna go over to Germany to fight Arthur Abraham. And this is coming off that battle with Gibbs. I really like Edouard. I like Taylor too, but not as much for some reason. Knicksman20 02-01-2005, 10:32 PM Should be a live body in the ring with Taylor for once. I'd like to see Taylor take on Kingsley Ikeke or Sam Soliman if he gets passed this test. I'm not sold on him yet, he's being brought up really slow so seeing is believing. QueenCity 02-02-2005, 12:35 AM I'm glad Eduoard is getting a chance he's a damn good fighter in my eyes and has a mild chance at an upset. This will be a much tougher fight for Taylor than those three bums Alex Rios, Raul Marquez and William Joppy he had previously. If Taylor gets past this road block i'd like to see him against Hopkins, but most likely Felix Sturm. jpboxer3 02-15-2005, 07:01 PM This will be Jermaine Taylors first true test against a young, hungry, and undefeated natural Middelweight in Daniel Eduard. If you saw Eduards fight against Willie Gibbs, you would know how good this kid really is. Floydmayweather 02-16-2005, 01:22 AM ya this is taylors real test sturm will beat taylor though ^^ Taylor would bust sterum up bad. ;) AintGottaClue 02-16-2005, 09:12 AM Taylor would bust sterum up bad. ;) cant even spell his name right bro this will be taylors chin test cause eduoward will hit it if he doesnt have one its bye bye taylor if he does then its on to the top.. Taylor TKO round 5-6 if he doesnt have a chin eduoward tko 4-6 Eman 02-16-2005, 01:54 PM ya this is taylors real test sturm will beat taylor though ^^ Yea we know sturm will beat every1. i wanna know who you think can beat him? GattiFan 02-16-2005, 02:44 PM This is just more grooming by Taylors camp. Moving up his competition in weight, boxing background, and now punching power. "The Hatian Sensation" is heavy handed but has a defense that involves throwing lots of punches and waiting for his opponents hands to break on his head. The way Taylor jabs and sets up that right and his uppercut? This could be ugly. Gibbs put him down, Taylor keeps him down. No way this lasts the distance. Taylor by mid-round KO. joeboxer 02-16-2005, 02:53 PM I say that HBO wouldn't risk their boy in a real fight. Taylor is ment to get the crown so he has to beat Eduoard more impressively than Hopkins beats Eastman. That means early KO. AintGottaClue 02-16-2005, 02:55 PM This is just more grooming by Taylors camp. Moving up his competition in weight, boxing background, and now punching power. The way Taylor jabs and sets up that right and his uppercut? This could be ugly. Gibbs put him down, Taylor keeps him down. No way this lasts the distance. Taylor by mid-round KO. gibbs didnt put him down gibbs was put down twice himself The Fix 02-16-2005, 06:48 PM that eoduard-gibbs fight was great.but i think taylor handles him easily with an early ko. edouard isnt on the same level as taylor. my prediction is taylor KO 5 AintGottaClue 02-16-2005, 07:03 PM this fight isnt goign past 6 unless taylor plays it real safe and carries him with his jab jpboxer3 02-16-2005, 07:32 PM Taylor isn't really a big KO puncher because most of his KO wins are TKOs.He couldn't even finish William Joppy when he had him hurt,so he's not a real killer in there like a Tito Trinidad.Edouards last opponent Willie Gibbs was a bigger puncher than Taylor IMO.All I can say is if Taylor cannot finish Edouard,it's gonna be a dog fight from start to finish.I say this is a tough matchup, and I believe Edouard will pull off the upset. |
