I've got trouble trying to come inside against an apponent, especially a taller one. Can anyone offer any sound advice please? I usually am forced to fight on the outside, using my jab. I usually do well fighting like this but I would very much like to come inside more...

Cheers

Keep your hands up and use a lot of head movement and footwork. Take your time and don't just rush in. Wait for the right moment and then explode. For inspiration you can watch tapes of "Iron" Mike, when he was in his prime.

That was just what I was going to say. Bob and weave into range. If he's inexperienced, he'll back up, if he is experienced, he'll side-step...side-step once more than him and you'll be in a perfect position to close in.

If you're dealing with a counter-puncher feint. See what he likes to throw when you throw different things and how he likes to throw it. Time it and get inside on him, but don't rush.

Another idea is to make him come to you.

like the guy said watch tyson

tyson used a jab
he didnt jab witht he taller guys he jabed to get inside
you have to use head movement and stay low and get inside to his body

move towards his jab side
try to jab over his jab and move in with combinations

if you get inside twice a around make sure you make it count

You can do several things
Like Jack said use a faint
bob and weave and change levels while moving in
Jab, Jab, jab
once your inside go the body ;)

also make sure your stamina is up
you are going to use alot of energy
trying to get inside
and you might have to take a few hits as well
