I think this will be a great matchup with both guys having alot to lose and gain. Who do you think will win. I think the fight is in Feb. I wouldve said Barrett before but I was really impressed with Beck the other night and now I dont know

I haven't seen much of Beck, but I do know his impressive record is filled with bums.Barrett is definetly a big step up in class for Beck.I'l go with Barrett by late round stoppage because his experience and he's also known to be a strong late round fighter.

The fight is this Saturday. Where did you see Beck the other night? Beck hasn't fought since September. I think that you are thinking of Brock. Either way Barrett would easily beat them both. Beck's chin makes Wlad's chin look like Oliver McCall's.

Your right. Good looking out. I was getting mixed up with Brock. I was wondering why they would put him in with Barrett so early.

Barrett will win by UD. I haven't seen much of Beck, but I have a lot of faith in a confident, hungry Barrett.

I havent seen Beck fight but I've seen Barret fight a couple of times now and I think hes a pretty decent fighter. Not spectacular, but pretty solid all around. I think he'll KO this guy in 8-10.

Its kind of strange because I have not heard much about Barret ever since he beat Dominick Guinn.

I agree. The only real knock against Beck is that he's built his record against terrible opposition. I mean really terrible opposition. Without a doubt, his toughest challenges were Rogerio Lobo, George Arias, and Taurus Sykes, and he went the distance with all of them but Lobo. He should have knocked out Arias, who was a natural cruiserweight and had been stopped by Fres Oquendo. All his other distance fights came early in his career when the fights were scheduled for four and six rounds. My point is, we don't really know how good he is, but he may not punch as hard as they say. Still, I'm gonna go with the up and comer in this match-up. After all, it's better to have unknown potential than known limitations. It'll be better for the division if Beck wins.

Why does everyone ignore the fact that Beck has been KD twice in his last four fights against Byron Polley 15-5 and Daniel Frank 15-9-1?

Monte Barrett is just and average fighter, but still from what I hear of Beck he ain't much better. Still this is a showcase fight, both guys have a chance to impress and show they are a legit heavyweight contender. If I had to pick I's say Barrett but I hope both guys will come out and look at this as a major opportunity fight, because it is.

Regardless the winner will be a number 1 contender and I think both would get whipped against Vitali or Byrd.
