First person to answer this right get 50000 points (I'll check back later if I'm off-line):

What is currently the largest national group in the world without a nation?

By "nationl group", I mean a group of people distinguished by their ethnicity and/or religion in some way. Many have nations (say, the Chinese) and many do not (say, the Cherokees...and no, that's not the answer).

No cheating by searching on-line, by the way.

Good luck, guys!

Tibetian's?
No...kind of surprising, but it's not them.

Muslims in Chechnia?
No...good guess, though.

Let me guess...the "Palestinians"?
No...don't worry, I wouldn't have put this question up if the answer would be this controversial :D .

50000 pts for f-o-f...congrats  .

Now that they've toppled Saddam, the question is what they want to do next. Remember, there's a huge Kurdish population in south-eastern Turkey as well. The Turks are worried that the Kurds in Iraq are gonna separate and then try to get their land in Turkey back as well. Why do you think they didn't want to help the States invade Iraq?

Thanks Bombz!!

If I remember it right, Turkey, in spite of being a NATO member, didn't even let the US and its allies use its airfield and airspace, precisely because of their problem with KURD separatist movement.

I read that the Iraqi Kurds are now actively participating in post-Saddam politics. That's GOOD NEWS because the last thing the world needs right now is another large-scale civil war, which could involve not only Turkey and Iraq, but also Iran and Syria!

Have a good day!! :)

So how many Kurds are there? What's the total number? Cause I think you might be wrong.
