Sounds like your dvd player isn't multi region. Do a search for the hacks for your make and model number. Often it's just a matter of pressing keys in a certain order before playing the disk. I've found that the cheaper the dvd player the more it will play, in the UK Alba are really good for this.

Your'e right. We had a decent-ish Sanyo that wouldn't play squat except originals. Swapped it for a £30 Alba and hey, let the piracy commence! ;)

Thanks for the help i have a sony dvd player about only 2 months old. I bought dvds from uk. all but 1 will play. I put the disc into dvd shrink program then click decrypt then region free, but still player says can't play due to region ristrictions. Is the region inbeded in the files, from the original write?,Or can i put them into my computer then make them a new region?
