As both an actor and director, Eastwood has always explored the darker side of human nature- even when he was the hero. I thought it was an alright picture, but it was so damn Hollywood it made me sick. It can't compare to films like Raging Bull and Rocky I, but then few can.

just read the commentary on the movie, interesting ( i guess i won't have to see it now, cause i know how it ends ) but i like the realism of what Eastwood has done, (almost ) everybody has dreams but very few win the lottery by making it to the top, most people get used and ****ed over along the way like another powerful (chinese) film i just saw says so well
