MlLkMan 01-29-2005, 11:02 AM We have an HDTV but we dont have an HDTV receiver. :( SonnyBGood 01-29-2005, 04:48 PM there are so few shows that are shown in hdtv that it's hardly worth it right now. It's a great way to watch football though. Chups 01-31-2005, 01:30 AM there are so few shows that are shown in hdtv that it's hardly worth it right now. It's a great way to watch football though. Its free anyways as long as you get the main channel. DR. FREECLOUD 01-31-2005, 09:36 AM there are actually enough channels out there for me. i get the local channels and hbo ect. the reason why i was asking is that i have direct tv hdtv and they have a channel called hdnet. that channel is awesome. they have been showing live cameras from bagdad. LuKahnLi 01-31-2005, 09:39 AM I have it. Fox needs to set up a true HD channel PRONTO. It is bull**** that we gotta watch the NFL games on Fox with pseudo high def. Another reason for me to hate Rupert Murdoch. NBC....now they know how to show a ball game. When the hell is ESPN gonna step up and create a high def channel too? Hell, if showtime and hbo got one, why doesn't ESPN and Fox? spinksjinx 01-31-2005, 09:45 AM I have it. Fox needs to set up a true HD channel PRONTO. I have an hdtv but I dont put it to use, I packed it away and pulled my 32" flat screen back out. Unless you are getting a direct signal from a satellite the shows wont be in true hdtv and the nbc/cbs/fox/tnt broadcasts that say they are in hd are not true hdtv. Same goes for the new hboHD telecasts, looks the same on my 32" flat. However when broadcasted in True HD it is BEAUTIFUL! But not enough to draw me back into it yet, Im disappointed in it really and am just waiting for more "CHANNELS" to broadcast and not "SHOWS". That is where the quality is at. I can't get the ESPN HD channel. BUt I do get the NBC CBS channels. Football especially looks beautiful on HD. An HD telecast is merely done in such a way that someone with an Plasma TV will not have any graphics cut off. DR. FREECLOUD 01-31-2005, 09:53 AM ESPN does have an hd channel, I have it. I have espn hbo sho discovery All are HD only channels, the movies look like regular digital tv, only the Discovery and Espn looks damn good. We dont have a straight channel of nbcHD or anything like that. I have to turn on my digital box and just turn to the channel and only certain shows are broadcasted in HD. I have a Zenith HD unit, like I said when it is true HD it looks fantastic. LuKahnLi 01-31-2005, 10:30 AM I have a Hitachi Plasma Screen. DVDs especially work well. THe sound also is amazing. bigdlb12 01-31-2005, 12:01 PM Make sure the receiver you get is able to do 480i, 720i and 1080i for your preference. DR. FREECLOUD 01-31-2005, 02:24 PM Had all of the right connections...Whatever channel wasnt strictly HD wasnt impressive. i don't know what to tell ya man...my set up looks sweet on all of the channels. hd that is spinksjinx 01-31-2005, 02:28 PM i don't know what to tell ya man...my set up looks sweet on all of the channels. hd that is The HD only channels did look good no doubt about that. But it wasnt worth wasting 10 extra dollars a month and wearing out my hdtv for a measly 2-3 channels I will never watch. I was totally disappointed in the Boxing broadcasts on HD, On ESPN and HBO. They advertised as being shot in True Hd but they werent. I will continue to keep the television in the closet until more channels are added and worth my while. |
