BREWSTER PUTS IN HIS BID FOR TOP RUNG ON HEAVYWEIGHT LADDER
The draw between James Toney and Hasim Rahman leaves a temporary opening for someone to step in and become, at least in the minds of most fans, the pre-eminent heavyweight in the world. Lamon Brewster wants to fill that void; whether a win over Sergei Liakovich on Saturday will be a big step in that direction is another question. Liakovich (yes, that apparently is the correct spelling) hasn't fought in 16 months since his career-best win over Dominick Guinn. The boxing world is so starved for a heavyweight "champion" who can look impressive that it's probably overreacted to Brewster's wins over Andrew Golota and Luan Krasniqi. But Lamon is far from unbeatable.
Here's a preview on the fight from JE Grant:

On THE CHARLES JAY LINE, we're posting Brewster as the 9/2 favorite to win (-450), while Liakovich is 4/1, or +400. We're offering a number of other betting options here as well, and will be adding more until Saturday, including some interesting "cross-sport" propositions, so please continue to check back.
