Someone was talking about this at work! do you think that would be a great fight? I think toney would win though but with volumes of punches.

How. Toney has to fight Ruiz.

I like that fight, could go either way, because they both basically have to fight inside, could be a rough fight for Toney, because of Peter's strength, but an exciting one none the less.

I would like to see Sam peter vs John ruiz only to see if he can knock out ruiz, or tua vs tyson, or tua vs peter.

"...You got a young heavyweight, who's undefeated, you beter keep him the hell away from me. I ruin fighters for a living..that's what I do..."

Peter has crazy power and he goes to the body hard but i think Toneys speed and reflexes would give him alot of trouble. Also Peter likes to force the action that is what Toney loves.

this is a heavy that i believe toney can beat. peter has so many flaws right now tha toney would exploit them and stop peter late or take a wide ud

Peter should stay away from Toney right now...Ruiz is the much more beatable opponent based on styles...Peter throws big heavy wild shots and Toney is a master with his defense.

Maybe down the road but the focus for Peter should either be Ruiz or McCline...too me McCline would be perfect for Peter...he would eventually knock him out and it would look good on the resume considering the trouble Byrd had with Big Jameel.

The only thing Peter would have with Toney or Ruiz is a punchers chance.

It is great and all that he beat Williams and Diaz, but Peter is still a work in progress and his handlers know it.

Peter may fight another 5 times this year, but i twill not be against Toney or Ruiz.

James should fight Ruiz first to try to pick up title and I think Toney will beat Ruiz.

I'd like to see Ruiz-Peter..that would be so interesting for the boxing community worldwide. You have the guy everyone hates with a passion, and his opponent? ..a brute completely capable of giving him a first round ko.

I'm not really high on Toney as a heavy quite yet. Beating an aged Holyfield and a cruiser in Booker doesn't sell me yet. I need to see him with a legit heavy like Ruiz or Byrd before I can believe he's for real.

You guys are to enamered with James Toney. He's a good heavyweight at best. Him being considered a serious threat(and maybe he is) is a sad comment in itself in the shape of the heavyweight division. I don't remember it being this sad, since the fifteen or twenty champs we had between Holmes And Tyson. A decent heavyweight at best, knocks Toney out. Anyone who thinks different just doesn't know boxing. I don't care how talented a fighter is, you don't move up from middleweight to heavy somewhere in your late thirties and consider to be one of the premier heavyweights. Boxing will look back one day on this logic with the same respect that they look back on Y2K at the turn of the century. Toney as a heavyweight is BULL****.

Toney will soon be exposed. He is getting attention in the Heavyweight division because he beat an old washed up Evander Holyfield and also by making outrageous comments. Toney will find out that he really can't take a Heavyweight punch. Peter will knock him out and so will Vitali Klitschko.

I'm not talking about the exception, I'm talking about the rule dip-****. I'm sure you can find someone who grew up in the projects who won the lottery, doesn't mean everyone else in poverty can bank on it. As a rule, older middleweights don't cut it, yes Jones did, and I like him alot, but remember, he did it once against a hand picked opponent. Why in the hell would he have gone back to light heavy to fight a no name like tarver when he could have had many more fighters that would have paid more to fight him at heavyweight. Because he's not a heavyweight. Nor is Toney. I don't blame TOney mind you, for eaking out a living, I'm just saying that if he can go in thier and dominate, it's a sad day for boxing. But don't worry he won't. If it's not for his convenient exuses of always being hurt, someother average hw will expose him for what he is....A fat middleweight

I would put my money on Toney
peter is one of the best heavyweight
prospects, but he need more experience.

Toney would get domilished by Peter even though I also agree Peter needs a lot more fights before he can do anything against a real champion. And hey since Roy Jone did it and Glen Johnson beat him something Toney didnt do Johnson will probably be the next hw champ. GO GLENCOFFE

That fight would suck, they should be cleaning out the bums not fighting each other. Let Peter have Golata and Brewester. Let Toney have byrd and ruiz then the better man can beat up on Vitali.

Hmm. Sam Peter has some power. I'd be an interesting matchup for sure. I think Sam is supposed to be touted as the next great heavywieght. But, we'll see.

Right now, Peter will have trouble with Brewster...oh, how i'd like to see him in with ruiz, though, that power, even if Peeter loses he'll **** ruiz up

Fighting the weakest of four heavyweight champions taints his legacy.

I agree 100%, Peter is a mere blip to Toney right now. He needs to become a man in the ring before he fights the elite.

easy ass fight for Toney
this big dumb bear cant take a punch
much less combinations of them
Diaz hit him with couple punches that seemed to hurt him
someone like toney can pick this young guy apart easy
hed make him miss and get tired
then finsh him with sweet ass combos
