View Full Version : Toney smacktalk special in this week's Boxing News
!! Anorak 01-28-2005, 05:16 PM Toney's at it again, with a big centre-spread interview in Boxing News, much of it censored due to expletives and the possibility of libel.
Toney's nicknames for his rivals aren't particularly witty, but they ARE funny. Some of them include:
"Punching Bag with legs on" (Kali Meehan)
John "Garbage" Ruiz
"The little sissy/track runner" (Chris Byrd)
Lennox "Cup of tea" Lewis
Danny "The England Gargoyle" Williams

Notice he doesn't say a god damn thing about Jirov. He knows better, lol. Jirov will come ***** you in public and make it a war, is why. Those other guys won't.

....Is that the same Jirov who just got knocked out by over the hill Moorer? Jirov has got nothing as a heavy. I like him but he aint cuttin it at heavy at all.
Kid Achilles 01-28-2005, 05:50 PM "I like him but he aint cuttin it at heavy at all."
Neither is Toney. Both of these guys have no business at heavyweight. Though to be fair, Toney should at least fight one heavyweight under the age of forty before he goes back to cruiser.

When Moorer KO'd Jirov, I thought to myself, how the hell did Tua drop him so fast; and then Moorer give Jirov, the guy that retired Mesi, a ko?
I think Rahman would completely dominate Moorer too
but still, notice he didn't talk smack about Jirov. he either respects him or fears him, or both. if he fears him, it's probably only because he gave Mesi a Subdural Hematoma- something rahman knows plenty about and is probably very afraid of.
EDITED: also I agree, Jirov belongs in the cruiserweight division. Why he's moving up to heavyweight I do not know, the guy is nuts.
Look at Bernard Hopkins, he's looked upon as one of the greatest ever...why? Well, I bet him staying in his own weight class has alot to do with it ;-) These guys that keep moving from weight class to weight class are only ****ting themselves, imagine if Roy would've just stayed at Cruiser, he would probably still be champion

he probaby didnt mention jirovs name because he has already beaten him. i dont think toney is interested in rematches especially to a fighter who has lost 3 of his last 5 and the two wins were against journeymen
!! Anorak 01-28-2005, 06:36 PM What I quoted were just highlights from a two-page detailed Q & A. Here's a quote:
"I whupped him for 12 rounds and he couldn't do a damned thing. Look at his face after that fight - he ain't never been the same. I beat the hell out of him."
He also claims he would beat Vitali.
!!Captain 01-28-2005, 07:55 PM Strange, he didn't say a damn thing about Klichko.
!! Anorak 01-28-2005, 08:08 PM Strange, he didn't say a damn thing about Klichko. You kidding? :) I can't quote from this all night, I have to go to bed... buy a copy, guys, it's worth it.
Here he is on Klitschko: "As far as skill-wise, hands down, nobody - including Klitschko - can touch me."
"Klitschko ain't so great."
Not exactly scathing, I'll agree. On Roy Jones: "He was a fraud. Roy can't fight. He can't even spell fight!"
Dark Destroyer 01-28-2005, 08:10 PM You got to love Toneys rants :D Pure top class entertainment
The Golden Boy 01-28-2005, 08:20 PM Is this guy kidding? Roy took him to school all night and made him look like a clown when he knocked him down. James Toney is a perfect example of the saying "All talk, no action".
!! Anorak 01-28-2005, 08:27 PM He says if he'd bothered to train it would be different.

i see at least one missing here:
Vitali "frankenstein" klitschko :D
The Golden Boy 01-29-2005, 12:53 AM He says if he'd bothered to train it would be different.
hahahahahah, come on. That would have to be the lamest excuse ever used. Thats just like saying "i could have beat him, but i didnt want to". PATHETIC!!!
theironone 01-29-2005, 05:12 AM well hopefully we'll see how much is pure talk cos he's ruizs no 1 now, and i firmally believe he's the weakest out of the top 3
