Sin set off tsunami?
Just thinkin' about Gomorrah
By Laurie Mustard
OK, this is just too much. The following headline caught my eye in Wednesday's WorldNetDaily:
"Homosexuality, fornication cause of tsunami."
Unbelievable. The article goes on: "A Muslim Saudi professor says the earthquake and tsunami in south Asia were punishment from Allah for homosexuality and fornication committed by residents and visitors of affected countries at Christmastime."
In the Nutty Professor's own words, "These great tragedies and collective punishments ...are Allah's punishments of the people of these countries, even if they are Muslims."
See, this is where I think mankind messes up what the essence of a loving, forgiving Allah/God etc., is all about.
Call me crazy, but I find it impossible to believe that Allah/God would kill hundreds of thousands of innocent men, women and children, animals, flora/fauna etc., to punish the so-called perverse few described above. He'd just put a hit on the nasties.
No disrespect for God/Allah. Besides, would Allah destroy so much of Asia and leave California standing? Vegas? Hardly.
One last thing, professor. As Ian Shanley of The Sun points out, rearrange the letters in tsunami and it spells, "I am nuts." Just a little something to mullah over.
A repeat of Noah and Gomorrah? Was it really Allah's wrath? Has the earth's liquid core stopped moving? Godzilla moved from his slumber in the middle the ocean? What do you guys think? :p
Bombardier 01-28-2005, 01:24 PM I was waiting for a Christian fundamentalist group to claim that God was now punishing the heathens every year at Christmas. Last year there was the terrible earthquake in Iran, and this year an even worse disaster that struck mainly Muslim countries.
Guess these guys aren't bright enough to piece together a theory like that...good thing I'm not on their side :D .
Explosivo 01-28-2005, 01:31 PM WorldNetDaily is a hard core Christian Right wing site. Even though the article says it was Allah punishing the people WND wanted to advance the thoery because Im sure people like Pat Roberts and Jerry Falwell think the same thing but are just afraid to say it. I see this as WND saying something that they believe is true and blaming it on Muslims. I used to read WND all the time, but I stopped in the last year just because they are too rabid on Christian fundamental crap.
{BrownBomber} 01-28-2005, 01:36 PM I have a black muslim friend and he said that florida was hit by so many hurracanes because the last presidential election was decided in florida. he said that was a punishment from alah.their leaders feed these people was weird **** sometimes.
Mr. Ryan 01-28-2005, 01:37 PM Jerry Falwell said the same thing about 9-11.
Bombardier 01-28-2005, 01:43 PM Jerry Falwell said the same thing about 9-11.
Who was 9-11 punishing? Plenty of good Christians working in the WTC I'm sure. Or did he just assume that they were all bad cause they were living in New York?

.....You do have to wonder about why it happened to a Muslim dominated part of the world. It may not be divine intervention but the bad Karma gods could have been taking a shot at Muslims for their stance and their actions around the globe.

I think "divine intervention" and "bad karma from God" are one and the same thing. It is significant to note that it can happen to anybody anywhere - to both Christians and Muslims and the other sects.
But there is one group that should be the first to evaporate from the face of the earth - THOSE TERRORIST SCUMS who kills innocent civilians and school children !!
Kid Achilles 01-28-2005, 06:41 PM Load of bull****. If God/Allah hated homosexuals, he wouldn't have made them that way.

...You do have a point there. Homos are born and not made. I don't believe that a guy just wakes up one day and decides he no longer likes fish and is switching to sausage. How could he when fish tastes so damn good?

It's not what or who they are, but what they do that could be wrong, I guess.

The worst thing is really, that the rich Muslim countries of the middle east donated a PATHETIC sum to the relief effort.

.....Yeah, hows that for a kick in the dick. I also bet Al Jazeera is downplaying the Western aid and focusing on the negatives like what we could do more. I guarantee they aren't mentioning the paltry sums provided by the Muslim nations.
