I am a Right-handed fighter, but now standing orthodox doesn't feel right. I stopped boxing training a while ago, but I have still been working out lightly.

I was watching a Manny Pacquiao fight, and his upper body movement confused me. I got off the couch and got into a Left-handed stance and tried to move like him. I felt very comfortable standing that way, so I went outside and started hitting the heavybag left-handed.

Now when I stand orthodox it doesn't feel right. Also my left hand seems to have turned into my power hand.

How do I fix this?

If you want to compete, if you go to a gym most trainers are gonna turn you right back around

Not necessarily, many pros out there fight with their strong hand forward (de la hoya, winky, hagler). I actually heard of someone saying that Pacquiao was signing autographs with his right hand... I know hamed for sure is right handed but fought mostly as a south paw.

The hand you writing does not say you are left or right handed.

I write with my left but I have more power in my write.

It likw I could control my left more and my right is better for the strong punchs.

piggu, welcome to the club!

my MA usualy fights with the strong hand forward, but does strive to be ambidextrous as well instead of just limiting a particular punch to a particular hand.

go upto your punching bag, and throw ur hardest king hits, and see how u balance up and feel, then u will know more about what stance u is

looks like you said you write (brutal stories) with your left hand, but you get more power with your writing. just playing with words and trying to confuse people

Can you jab better with your right? I'm righthanded and would like to try to stand southpaw but for some reason I can't jab the same with my right hand.

I'm left handed and fight southpaw (the usual left handed stance) I can obviously jab better with my right.

Since you are right handed you should probably stand orthodox. That means you will have your right power hand to the rear and your left jabbing hand to the front.

Im right handed but fight Southpaw. I tried going to orthodox but i have more power in my left and prefer using the right to jab. I mix it up for practice but i say do what feels right.
