View Full Version : Does Hopkins Get Redemption? BIGPOPPAPUMP 01-25-2005, 01:49 PM For the loss to Roy Jones? Jones beats Nard, Nard Stops Johnson and Johnson knocks Roy out.... Redemption or does he have to fight Jones? bigdlb12 01-25-2005, 01:51 PM fight jones, but the jones of today is nowhere where he was 10 years ago, ok 11 years ago Mr. Ryan 01-25-2005, 01:52 PM Hopkins will never get the credit for beating Roy Jones unless he beats Roy Jones. Just because they had different outcomes against a common opponent doesn't mean that Hopkins sleeps easier at night. The Roy Jones that beat Hopkins is a much different Roy Jones than the one that fought Glen Johnson. IwatchBoxing 01-25-2005, 01:53 PM Hopkins will never fight Jones again, not even now, that he has been Ko'd twice, in a row. Mr. Ryan 01-25-2005, 01:59 PM Hopkins will never fight Jones again, not even now, that he has been Ko'd twice, in a row. Because Jones was never a welterweight. jabsRstiff 01-25-2005, 02:13 PM The loss to Jones is not even held against Hopkins....he doesn't need redemption. He lost a decision to a guy, in Roy, who would then become one of the (if not the) best fighters for almost a full decade. marvelous_TG 01-25-2005, 02:23 PM The loss to Jones is not even held against Hopkins....he doesn't need redemption. Hop lost to Superman...so what. However the fight would have been different if it were the Hop of today fighting that version of Roy. marvdave 01-25-2005, 02:35 PM the Jones loss will have no bearing on Hopkins status. It was years ago and he lost a decision to Jones. I doubt it will ever be brought up much when discussing Hopkins after he retires. Fighting Jones now does nothing for him. It will never happen. He needs no redemption. I do wish he would stop picking on those little guys :D IwatchBoxing 01-25-2005, 03:01 PM the Jones loss will have no bearing on Hopkins status.
