I don't think he is a serious contender and he did not beat Gatti in his prime. I think Gatti is in his prime right now and he is a smarter and more technical fighter than back in the day. Manfredy also lost 3 of his last 7 fights.

Manfredy was a good, solid pro.
Did everything pretty well, but bombed out against the best fighters he faced - Mayweather & Corrales.

Angel Manfredy was a weird guy. He used to come to the ring in a Devil's mask, and then on his trunks it said "Got Jesus". What thats all about, I dunno. He was underpowered, had a shaky chin, and wasn't particularly difficult to hit. He did have alot of heart, which was enough when he went up against guys like Robinson, Gatti, and Rodriguez. It wasn't good enough against Mayweather or Corrales though. If you miss him so much, watch Ebo Elder. They are essentially the same guy.

Manfreddy is totally washed up!

At his best, he had solid technical skills, even if he did execute them in slow motion at times. Correct me if I'm wrong, but to me he always seemed to fight a little better on the inside. Of course, against PBF and Corrales, he couldn't do that, so he got lit up. Seems like a nice guy though, I liked him.

I don`t think Manfredy was ever really above journeyman. He got two good wins, over Gatti and Brown. Neither was a title fight. He then got young pro Mayweather who blew him away. manfredy comes back and outpoints Ivan Robinson ( and he was coming off two wins over Gatti ) so this made everyone believe that Manfredy was the real deal again.
Truth is, Gatti was washed up even at this stage. Ivan Robinson was shot ( Gatti fights took it out of him ) and Manfredy challenges Stevie Johnston and gets well outpointed. A few more wins over **** opponents and then he gets hammered by the chinny Corrales.
Manfredy was a journeyman who scored one or two wins over shot name opponents, nothing special!

he was in a great fight with courtney burton. burton though hasnt been the same since his KO victory. burton needs to have the same mentality he had when he fought angel or fight in michigan for the rest of his career :D

People think gatti is a pound for pound fighter because he knocked out Dorin. That match-up was practically a welterweight vs. Lightweight.

No I did not seen him knock out Gatti, since he NEVER Knocked out Gatti.

The fight was stopped on a cut. The fight was about even on that point (and Gatti to my opinion coming back strong).

An idea: When you only want to read your own opinion you could make your own forum and call it something like "Mike Tyson is the greatest F**ck*ng thing to ever walk the earth and Gatti Suckz, and people that disagree are arzez" ;)

P.S. You forgot one of the things in your comparing Gatti to Manfredy...both suck when you up their competition.
