Kornhusker 01-25-2005, 09:28 AM good list but butterbean
Hell yes, he represents the fat, bald, middle aged white man demographic. I can relate to that :(
Johnny_Rocket 01-25-2005, 09:30 AM Tyson, Gatti, Pacquaio....These are my fave active fighters....as for Non-active I love all the legends from Johnson and Dempsey to Foreman Ali and Frazer
marvelous_TG 01-25-2005, 09:32 AM Hell yes, he represents the fat, bald, middle aged white man demographic. I can relate to that :(
:D i understand, he can really punch tho. What's worse being bald of fat?
spinksjinx 01-25-2005, 09:34 AM good list but butterbean
Butterbean is good short entertainment, Just because a fighter isnt top tier level doesnt mean you cant like him. When I was young and saw him on Tuesday Night Fights all the time, I thought he was the **** and the only top fighter out their.....Shows how much I knew then. Besides one of my top favorite fighters is Reggie Strickland, Go to Boxrec and check out his record. Great guy with heart though.
Anyways my top favorite fighters in no order
Sugar Ray Robinson
Rocky Marciano
Cory Spinks
Leon Spinks-His first fight against Ali, was incredible for only 7 pro fights.
Michael Spinks-Bringing the end to a heavyweight king, AHHHH
Ray Leonard
Marvin Hagler
Danny "Little Red" Lopez
Chris Byrd
Ike Ibeabuchi
Roy Jones at middleweight
Mark Johnson
Just the tip of the iceberg.
Kornhusker 01-25-2005, 09:38 AM :D i understand, he can really punch tho. What's worse being bald of fat?
They both suck, especially when combined. But since you can lose weight, I'd say going bald is worse.
Kornhusker 01-25-2005, 09:40 AM Man I miss Tuesday night fights, espn does a piss poor job of filling the void.

Love the Spinks style and each member of the family has done something great.
Michael was a very smart fighter and great at what he did. Easily in the top 3. I think how he beat Holmes was the biggest thing he accomplished and since that was at heavyweight, I guess I really cant count all of that.
SonnyG8R 01-25-2005, 09:52 AM i see you like the spinks family, where do you think michael spinks belong in the all-time top 10 light-heavies?
I'm a Michael Spinks fan as well, so I'd like to answer if I may.
I think he was top 5 light heavyweight, maybe even #3.
The only 2 who were clearly better than him were Archie Moore and Ezzard Charles.

Hey man he kicked ass..He stood up for his religion...so did Ali and ppl hated him, you are prbly one of them...much respect to Prince Naseem Hamed.....He was a great fighter,,we're still waiting for him to come back...
ok past:
Marvin Hagler (the best middle of my lifetime)
Nigel Benn (Vulnerable but the biggest heart Ive seen in a boxing ring and boy oh boy could he hit)His fight against G man while tragic in ending was one of the best Ive ever seen.
Lennox Lewis (after years of barren Heavyweights we finally had someone to shout, bomxing nights when he was fighting round mine were carnage with many friends coming to parteeee rounded off with a screaming match at 5 am at the TV as Big len was on)
Presently
Hopkins (joint best middleweight of my lifetime, bloke is a machine and his dedication is to admired)
Gatti (heart and ability, bit like Nigel Benn its his vulnerability at times that makes him so exciting, you just dont know do you!)
Hatton (well he is the biggest fighter over here at present and Ive seen him fight numerous times, dont count him out against Zoo though its an uphill task).
