i'm 15 years old and JUST recently been getting into boxing from watching manny pacquiao and sugar ray fights. i purchased a punching bag about 2 weeks ago and just punched it around and was wondering what the basics were. i would go to a gym and get a personal coach but there's no place where i live.

i want to build up on my speed and power of my punches. i'm right handed too. some punches i've been doing were punching two times with my left hand and then hitting a big one with my right.

I'm no expert but hopefully these tips will help.

First off get your stance right. Do you feel more comfortable with your right foot foward, or left foot foward? If your right handed then more likeley with your left foot foward. Get into a stance you feel comfortable with.

Make sure when youre hitting the bag don't leave your arms hanging lazily down, always keep your hands up. This is important because it will help keeping your hand up just being automatic, instead of having to think about it.

Find someone to show your if you're throwing your punches right. You don't want to get into a bad habit of throwing punches wrong, or being off balance.
