MANAGUA, Nicaragua—One could dismiss as idle chatter the non-stop tirades made by World Boxing Council 154-pound champion Ricardo “El Matador” Mayorga against “The Golden Boy” Oscar De La Hoya at media tour stops in Beverly Hills, Houston, Chicago and New York last week promoting their May 6 meeting at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, but a check of the record indicates Mayorga often backs up his trash talk with wins.

I think that almost every time, he's going to get beaten by a good technician. He's a street fighting thug, but has next to no skill. He was able to overwhelm Vernon...took him by suprise and got the win. I may be one of the few that think he lost the rematch with Forrest. If his opponet can take his punch and use the ring...BOX, they can outpoint him. DLH will probably outbox him too, matter of fact. He may be exciting to some, but the guy has no talent to speak of, and is a disrespectful pig, in and out of the ring. I love watching him get his ass whipped, any day of the week! :D

this time he's bit off WAY more then he can chew!
De La Hoya will outbox him and be landing punches to the body and head all night & he'll ko him in the 11th or 12th round.
Mayorga's a funny guy, but he should of kept his mouth shut!

I can see Oscar giving him a serious beatdown if he's able to get back into fighting shape and not have a lot of ring rust. Trinidad stood right in front of Mayorga, so Mayorga had a chance to land some shots on him. Oscar will circle him and stay in range to land combinations. Mayorga could taste the canvas in this one. I'd say Mayorga's only chance is the layoff has been too long for Oscar.

and mayorga doesnt really move anyways he just throws multiple angled ko shots

Ricardo is more than just talk.
He is a battle proven World Champion that ko'd Vernon Forrest when almost no one gave him a chance.
The guy is basically an animal much like Roberto Duran was at one time, though he is nowhere skilled as Manos de Piedra was.
Thug is a very good description of the guy that was used here, and I would suspect he will wind up in prison one day for hurting someone very badly as he is unable to control his anger.
I agree that he is getting a beatdown here, but Oscar must be very careful as he is going to be rushed while Mayorga swings for the fences with just about every shot the first several rounds.
Oscar is too good a fighter to get taken out by one of his sucker shots, and Mayorga should fight himself out after about 6 rounds.
I think Oscar is going to hurt Ricardo to the body early and take a lot of the steam out of his engine room.
I like Oscar by TKO around 9 rounds here.

I dunno they are both real fast so we'll have to see if mayourga is on his game(sorry if i spelt that wrong) The Goldenboy seems to be almost out of his prime if you look what happened with his last 5 fights.

Mayorga throws quick volleys sometimes, but they're wild. His footspeed isn't very good. Oscar throws faster and more accurate combos, and his footwork is superb, and he hasn't decent footspeed as well. The only way Mayorga wins is if Oscar is just too far out of fighting shape and mind to get it back.

Oscar will KO Mayorga quicker than Tito did. He knows that Mayorga is weaker in the body as when Tito finally went downstairs, it hurt him. Oscar will go to the body early to get Mayorga outta there sooner.

i really don't think there is any question as to the superior skills and credentials of oscar in reference to mayorga-
i just want to see oscar taste canvas again
