I don't see this fight as being that a great showcase for Gatti, he will get as much as he gives. I see Gatti comming out of the gate hard looking for a knockout, Leija won't fool for this and will fight a smart technical fight often making Gatti look bad. However in the end I think Gatti's overall size will earn him a KO by stoppage in the 10 or 11.

I think that this fight will be fought to the end with Gatti coming out ahead in a close decision. Leija will come out and look to attack Gatti who be trying his best to stay with his plan which is to move and box his way to winning. Eventually, say round 4-6, Gatti will come back to the person that we know and love. He will begin trading heavy blows, and I think that the last 3-4 rounds of this fight may possibly become an all-out slugfest. This fight is pretty meaningless in a sense that these are two second-tier fighter. But to a boxing purist, this is a fight we love because these guys are so closely matched. Don't get hooked up on records because Dorin and Branco are garbage. This will be a great fight.

If you compare Gatti and Leijas record,there's no quesstion that Leijas has been in with the better opposition.Just by looking at Leijas record,you can see that he's never backed down from a challenge.He's fought Nelson,DLH,Mosely,Lazcano,Ward,Zoo to name a few.Leija maybe older age wise,but I think as far as wear and tear in the ring,I think Gattis definetly a tad bit older.Leijas lived a clean life outside the ring while Gattis had his problems with the bottle in the past.And NO,theres no way Gatti is still in his prime,LMAO!


Alot of you sound like it's a sure bet that Gatti destroys Leija Saturday night.Here's a couple of reasons why I dont think this will be a walk in the park for Gatti.

While what you say is true, Leija is a much older fighter in the twilight of his career while Gatti is still relatively fresh and newly rejuvinated with McGirt in his corner. I see it as a dificult task for Leija to outbox Gatti but, then again, if he comes in in top shape he has a very good chance at the upset.

The smart money is on Gatti but it should by no means be a blowout.

gatti should win this, if he can't beat a 39 year old leija he has no business being in with mayweather. leija is a tough guy who's had a great career but gatti will stop him around the 6th.

I don't know how good gatti will look in the opening rounds against a style like jesse's. but he should win by a tko, or a cut, later rounds, RD 10.
