If you arent gaining weight with this diet then you should not be too concerned...
However, you didnt mention what you ate for dinner, that may be worth considering if its not that healthy... the bar's are fine at this stage in your amateurs, I wouldnt get too worried about it. Throw some fruits into the "snacks" to increase the amount of the portions you are eating, thus making yourself less hungry throughout the day, and chuck some vegetables into your dinner if they arent already there.
The water is good. Perhaps eat fish, I dont know how much of this you eat, but its definetly healthy food. The reason you are eating Mars bars is 1) because you have a habit of it now 2) because you arent eating enough beforehand.
Eat more on the portions throughout the day, to save eating shite food...

yrrej 03-05-2006, 11:31 AM You've first got to learn how to read nutritional information so you can make your own judgments, as well as learning how much of what nutrients are required on a daily basis. The fact that you are turning to Mars bars tells me you are letting yourself get a big energy debt, meaning your blood sugar gets too low and then you binge on sugary food to boost it back up. Unfortunately, this is a vicious circle whereby first your blood sugar bottoms out then the candy bar shoots it up off the chart. You need to keep the blood sugar more or less level. For instance think about what you are eating for breakfast. Corn flakes are OK, as they are low fat, but they are pretty one-dimensional calorie-wise, meaning your body will digest all the starch (which is converted to sugar) in the corn at the same rate, just like eating a candy bar. Better to eat a multi-grain cereal, because your guts will digest the different grains at different rates providing a more constant energy boost. Also, good to have a cereal with some fiber, as the fiber provides a fuller feeling longer, as well as cleansing the digestive track by absorbing toxins and absorbing the sugar as well to slow its release. Then consider what you are putting in the corn flakes. Personally I buy a vanilla-flavored high-protein, nutrient-added, low-fat supplement, like SlimFast and dump a can of that in there, no sugar added, rather than milk and sugar, although low fat or skim milk is OK also. Nowadays all the nutritional information is right on the package, so when you shop you need to compare until you get a good idea of what you are putting inside you. Price can also be a consideration, but pricier or flashier doesn't mean better by any means. Some of the granola-type stuff which is sold as "healthy" is just as much crap as the average candy bar. Look at the salad dressing and see how much fat is in that stuff. Read the label on the Cadbury bar. No serving of any particular item should have more than either 3 grams of fat or 300 calories. If you want to lose weight, you are looking at about 2000 calories per day. If you are working out really hard, you need more, but not empty sugar or fat calories. Check out the fat in the "cheese, ham, and mustard rolls". Mustard doesn't actually have any nutritional value, so it is a good flavoring if you like it. But even the rolls themselves may have a lot of empty calories. Some of those breads have 200 - 300 calories all by themselves, including high in fat. Ham can be low fat, or high fat. Cheese is almost always high fat. Tuna is good, but you have to check whether it is canned in water or oil. Oil is fat. Another thing is you have to plan your meals in advance. Make sure what you need to eat is available to you before you get hungry, so you don't just grab a candy bar out of the first machine you see. And the mental aspect is important. Plan on what you are going to eat ahead of time. If you are going to your mother's house, plan on not eating the cookies or ice cream she offers you. If you are going out with friends, plan what you are going to eat in any location you might find yourself ahead of time. If you have to, change your friends and habits if you really want to put health and fitness ahead of other lifestyles. It's tough. Every great boxer you see out there, regardless of their personal shortcomings, puts himself through this. Hatton says he gains 40 pounds between fights, but when its time to train, he bears down and uses discipline. You have to make a permanent change in eating and training habits and commit to proper diet all the time, or you slip back into bad habits slowly but surely. I could go on, but you get the picture. There is no shortcut to health....
