Undefeated Junior Welterweight Demetrius "The Gladiator" Hopkins (23-0, 9 KOs) outworked Mario Jose Ramos (16-2-1, 3 KOs) over twelve rounds to win the vacant USBA junior welterweight title Friday night at the sold out New Alhambra in South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. There were no knockdowns, but Hopkins had a wide advantage in connects. Hopkins' uncle Bernard Hopkins previously held a USBA title.

I was able to catch the fight, he looked good. Fighting a southpaw he didn't rely on his jab as much until later on when Ramos was feeling the heat.
