Im considering getting this set http://www.sportchalet.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1437750&cp=710957.694342&parentPage=family
but im curious to know if air filled bags are any good. I like the claim that they make saying that its easier on the hands, but at the same time I dont want to hurt myself from hitting it.

If that bag was hung in a real gym it wouldnt last a week. If the person who is going to hit the bag is very young then it would be good for him. Young meaning 5 or 6 years old. It would be much more gentle on his joints and tendons in his arms and shoulders. If its for an adult then it would be garbage, you might as well just shadow box instead of hitting that thing.
If a bag like that had been hanging at Galaxy, James Toney would have had a knife in it and it would have been destroyed in less than a day.

I always though air filled bags were for like 12 year olds.

Thats one expensive toy bag, if it is a toy. I like the water filled bags.

Air filled with a water base?? Yah just bought me nephew 1 for christmas, he's 5 ahahahaah...
IF you actually want a bag to last go with sand or salt..
If you can't hang it from your roof?? Well i'm sorry for you cause the onees you fill with water just dont' perform the same, have to pick the damn thing up with every big punch..

If it's a heavy bag, how come it needs the weight thingy on the bottom? If you are worried about your hands, get a WAV bag (water-filled).
