the wqay i get on the inside is...when the guy throws a jab, i look at his feet to judge the distance...slip, right when he pulls the jab back...then i jsut unload. andother way is i double up on a jab..first jab is a fake second jab is jsutfor attention then i step in...another way is..i pivot out when he throws a straight...then i move in and counter his right side.

and usually for tall fightes...they usually ddepend on a hard jab to stop inside fighters..

I feint a right to the head and go to the body

then I dont go crazy on the inside

I put my left shoulder into their throat kinda and hold my right up high

then I pick my punches...

Throwing hard punches to the kidney and liver and I try make em turn so I get a better positioning to hit em harder

if defending on the inside on the ropes I block body shots with my elbows and I wait for em to throw a left then I duck under it and move to my right while pushing em towards the ropes and then I throw afew sneaky punches from the side...

I was fighting an all-ireland champ last night and got killed on the inside, the fight was stopped with 30secs to go in the last round and I had been winning the round but was still behind on points, he had way more experience than me though coz he was all-ireland champ before I had even started fighting...My ribs are in bits!

It all starts from the jab, something I have been trained is jab and no matter what, slip to the left whilst bringing your right shoulder down towards your left foot (if you are orthodox this is). So you have thrown the jab and are now in a twisted position ready then to throw a left hook. After the hook you are on the inside..

Plenty of feinting, lots of head movement and be unpreditable, come in really fast and have ya feet close to him with out him knowing so u dont have to make up so much ground. Also instaed of punching his head if ur slightly out of optimum punching range throw a hook to his glove to make him cover up. Dont come in in straight lines either.

i let them through a jab wich is usually with there right hand i dodge left so they cant block with there left and right side hook in the face while there right arm is still extended

Man I reckon the whole key is to jab. And when you jab, dont stick it as hard u can and then get flat footed or off balance. pump it in their face and body, in two's and maybe even three. Make sure you dont jus walk in throwing nothing, because theyll step in throw 4-5 punch combinations and step out. make sure u dont come straight in either, keep them at the "base" of your "triangle" if you know what i mean. cut them off and keep moving your feet. Dont get flat-footed, make sure you keep moving. I love frazier, but his style is impossible to imitiate, as is other inside fighters' like marciano. i think the best fighter to learn from is a YOUNG mike tyson. he was phenomonal in getting on the inside. Fights like Mike Tyson vs Sam Scoff are really good to learn from.
good luck

get under their punches and move in, slip and weave, do whatever just stay under their shots, then unload on them. :)

1. I wouldn't advise trying to step in after your opponent jabs if you have a reasonable reach disadvantage because you'll get caught by another jab. Slip and step in when your opponent throws a hard straight right or a hook (duck).

2. Use the jab like Tyson. After your opponent jabs through the jab, slip to one side (expecting the counter) then unload.

As a taller fighter I jab and keep a right uppercut chambered so that if the infighter steps in too close I step in slightly and fire the uppercut then get out and jab some more.
