RwK 02-27-2006, 01:28 PM I watched the first three minutes of him jabbing nothing last night....and reinforcing his boring, reaching, style. Toney's gonna make him pay for that. alt10ate 02-27-2006, 01:29 PM [QUOTE=Parody]Did you see him? Here it is watch the full video... Mr. Ryan 02-27-2006, 01:31 PM toney is a blown up fat middle weight rahman ko'd lewis and is very strong. True, but Rahman also got outwrestled by Ruiz, humiliated by Maskaev, and has shown that he is really average as a fighter. paul750 02-27-2006, 01:33 PM toney is a blown up fat middle weight rahman ko'd lewis and is very strong. Come on.... give us more than that, let have some details. Kid Achilles 02-27-2006, 01:36 PM That was probably the most boring training video I've ever seen. I've seen local heavyweight at the gym I used to train at who looked much more impressive on the speedbag and the mitts. I'm now more convinced than ever that Toney will kick his ass. It may be Toney's first KO/stoppage since Holyfield. jabsRstiff 02-27-2006, 01:37 PM Looking as slow & lead-assed as I've always remembered him. Toney is going to embarrass him. Moon 02-27-2006, 01:38 PM Rahman has the experience edge at Heavy, but hasn't got the skills required to beat Toney. Toney will get tagged though and so will Rahman, but the "little good guy" beats the "bigger good guy" using superior boxing and a top-tier defense. RwK 02-27-2006, 01:39 PM Looking as slow & lead-assed as I've always remembered him. Toney is going to embarrass him. That's the end of the discussion. paul750 02-27-2006, 01:41 PM If Rahman comes in at a light weight it would help his cause a lot, because this fight will surely be going at least 8 rounds. SquareCircle 02-27-2006, 01:45 PM good job by toney's matchmakers, rahman's reaching style plays right into toney's hand, and you wouldnt think that by taking a look at the tale of the tape because toney is shorter etc. but toney is in a different league of fighters compared to hasim rahman, whos only famous because another fighter decided to showboat. while toney may be short, he is still extremely sharp and amazingly still has great reflexes and power in that straight right hand. and even though he's short, his straight right hand counter is so quick and he puts such a strong burst into that shot that it hits the target every single time, especially if hasim rahman is in front of him. expect to see hasims jab slipped and him catch multiple straight right hands. RAESAAD 02-27-2006, 01:49 PM You know I really am a fan of James Toney however I think it may be better for the HW division if Rahman beats him so that in the future we will see more KOs from Rahman than from Toney which would help spark public interest and all of that,I guess I am saying it may be better for the sport if Rahman wins but I am going for Toney I just can't help myself. :boxing: Crumble 02-27-2006, 02:03 PM I kind of want Rahman to win, just to see how Toney would react. DIEGO DA HITMAN 02-27-2006, 02:25 PM Toney will use his hand speed and combos to pick Rahman apart. I'm glad they're not trying to sell this on PPV. Any news on the undercard? If you were impressed by that boring display you might as well stop watching boxing now. Toney by KO round 9. Easy-E 02-27-2006, 03:38 PM [QUOTE=Parody]Did you see him? Thats the only chance he has. He can't outbox Toney. RwK 02-27-2006, 03:48 PM I hope Rahman reads the forums because most people are trying to get him the same message, DONT BOX TONEY, RUSH AND KO HIM. Thats the only chance he has. He can't outbox Toney. Rahman's only chance in the fight is to come out throwing nothing but haymakers and taking to land. There is no way he can possibly outbox Toney. No way. Parody 02-27-2006, 03:59 PM Toney will win this fight, Unless Rockman throws a Lucky punch, Which I think wont happen...All I know if this goes to distance Toney wins it. FibreOptic 02-27-2006, 04:22 PM If you were impressed by that boring display you might as well stop watching boxing now. Toney by KO round 9. He would really have to wear him down for that. DaWayne 02-27-2006, 05:46 PM True Rahman looked very slow. But lets remember what puncher in the heavyweight has Toney ever fought. Besides Ruiz not saying the division is deep who the f... has he fought Guinn I don't think so Holyfield try again. The last good fight he had was with Jirov back in 2003. Hardly a worldbeater considering that Michael Mooer knocked him out recently. I know that styles make fights but I can't see Toney lasting past 10 he never fought a puncher. Not only that Rahman looked really good in training paul750 02-27-2006, 05:50 PM True Rahman looked very slow. But lets remember what puncher in the heavyweight has Toney ever fought. Hardly a worldbeater considering that Michael Mooer knocked him out recently. I know that styles make fights but I can't see Toney lasting past 10 he never fought a puncher. Not only that Rahman looked really good in training Yeah,..... but the thing is Rahman has to actually LAND THOSE PUNCHES. Toney is hard to hit, epecially with the right hand, so yes Rahman may have the power, but can he plug it in as larry merchant once said? it may be unlikely. Kid Achilles 02-27-2006, 06:34 PM Rahman needs to be the bull in this fight. He needs to come forward and swarm Toney and just outwork him. He needs to make use of his big strength advantage. I don't think Toney, who was far weaker than Ruiz, has half the strength of Rahman. Rahman should tie him up on the inside with his strong arms (where Toney likes to do his best work) and lean on him whenever possible. Put some strain on those old legs and knee joints, which can't be functioning very well after all these injuries and all the weight gain and loss. Rahman needs to make this a physical fight and impose his will on Toney. Guinn tried it but he didn't have the necessary punch. Rahman on the other hand is the hardest puncher and the strongest man Toney has ever shared a ring with so far. All things considered,I still think Toney will outclass him and make him fight his fight (stand and trade one puncher at a time at mid to long range and get countered all night) but I wouldn't count Rahman out at this point, especially if Toney gets old overnight and Rahman really has some fire left in him. Moon 03-01-2006, 01:48 PM I kind of want Rahman to win, just to see how Toney would react. Just like evrything else, Toney will act like he doesn't give a ****. Yaman 03-01-2006, 01:56 PM I know Rahman will Ko that trash talking LHW. Can't wait for the fight. Wich channels will show the fight? Lights0ut 03-01-2006, 02:04 PM I know Rahman will Ko that trash talking LHW. Can't wait for the fight. And I'll be sure to remind you of your stupidity after the fight is over, and Toney is victorious. :boxing: TheEvilSaint 03-01-2006, 03:04 PM rahman can train to his hearts content, that matters not. toney will win. Yaman 03-01-2006, 03:07 PM And I'll be sure to remind you of your stupidity after the fight is over, and Toney is victorious. :boxing: You will not because like everybody else, you'll duck me because i am right :boxing: |
