View Full Version : james toney really loss against dave tiberi
Mike Tyson Jr. 01-21-2005, 09:16 PM this is another one i just saw a
tape of. james toney is supposed
to be so great but he loss to this
unknown guy. the guy beat him up
bad and it was clear to see. but the
judges still gave it to toney. this
was a worse robbery than sweet pee
and julio. toney aint so great.
ChicoEscuelaNYC 01-21-2005, 09:28 PM Shut the **** up already. Toney almost KO'ed Tiberi in the first round, and the fight is so old. Did you just start watching boxing or something?

i just saw this fight yesterday.
i collect fights.
ChicoEscuelaNYC 01-21-2005, 09:31 PM In other words you just started watching boxing.
Did you see the fight when Tyson got knocked the **** out in his prime against James Blubber Douglas? That was a classic.
Mike Tyson Jr. 01-21-2005, 09:33 PM Did you see the fight when Tyson got knocked the **** out in his prime against James Blubber Douglas?
yes. and tyson acepted the defeat.
toney didnt admit to defeat and tibery
beat him up.

:D :D LMFAO :D :D
ChicoEscuelaNYC 01-21-2005, 09:34 PM Tyson didn't have a ****en choice but to "Admit defeat"...Blubber Douglas knocked the mouthpiece out of his mouth and Tyson was hugging the ref to hold him up. :D
Tiberi/Toney was a back and forth war of aggressor vs counter puncher...Toney probably lost the fight, but since you're new to the sport I'll let you in on something....Toney was robbed twice against Montell Griffin so it kind of evens out.
Now get a life.

i bet i watched more fights than
you anyway since i collect fights.
and just because toney got robbed
against griffin dont make it right
that tiberi got robbed against toney.
im not trying to argue with anyone
because i dont wanna get in trouble.
im just pointing out a robberry i saw
on one of my tapes.
ChicoEscuelaNYC 01-21-2005, 09:40 PM No, what you're trying to do is detract from Toney by pointing out a controversial decision and claiming he isn't "great" because of it. Toney had one of the most intense schedules for a middleweight in the past 15 years....go to boxrec and check to see how many times the guy was fighting per year against top competition.
You have the nerve to say Toney isn't great because of a close fight with Tiberi when you're boy got KNOCKED THE **** OUT in his prime by the horrible James Blubber Douglas...no not robbed by decision...not outpointed....KNOCKED THE **** OUT AND DOMINATED by a bum.
Kindly shut the **** up and go watch some more "Tapes" and learn a bit more.
Eyeh8you 01-21-2005, 09:44 PM GOD FUKIN DAMN

sorry for offending you that
aint what i was trying to do
i made this thread to see if
anyone else may have seen this
robbery. because not too many
people know about it. you keep
bringing up mike but we aint
got to go there. mike lost to
buster fair and square and admitted
it.
ChicoEscuelaNYC 01-21-2005, 09:49 PM You didn't offend me, you're talking crap out of your rear end, and are making an argument that actually destroys any notion that Mike Tyson was/is great.
You argue that Toney isn't good because you feel he lost a decision against Dave Tiberi...well if that's the case and we stay true to your logic, Mike Tyson is an absolute BUM because he got dominated and KNOCKED THE **** OUT against a no name, always out of shape BUM by the name of James Blubber Douglas who immedietly lost his belt after slapping the **** out of a prime tyson for 10 rounds.
Take a lesson in logic and consistency (after you study up on your boxing) then come back.
BrooklynBomber 01-21-2005, 09:54 PM I remember that fight received proud title"worst decision of the year" and also named one of the worst decisions in boxing history. :D

we aint got to keep bringin up
mike. he lost that fight and everyone
knows he wasnt focused and in shape
against douglas. robin givens was playing
with his mind. a focused and in shape mike
tyson is hard to beat. buster got lucky
mike was going through problems. i told
you that I aint here to argue with you
but you just keep coming back with smack talk.
I just wanted to point out a robberry I saw.
it aint nothin personal. i pointed out the
julio and sweet pea robberry and the tito
and oscar robbery on this site too. look
at the threads youll see i aint playin
i pointed out those robberries too.
ChicoEscuelaNYC 01-21-2005, 10:04 PM we aint got to keep bringin up
mike.
Why not? According to you, Toney isn't great because he lost to a bum by decision....why not show an ounce of integrity and make a post about how Tyson is a worthless BUM because he got KNOCKED THE **** out against the perenniel overweight heavyweight contendor James BLUBBER Douglas while Tyson was in his prime.
That's right...under your avatar it clearly states you like to drink Tyson's load so I guess you won't make an admission of the truth anytime soon.
he lost that fight and everyone
knows he wasnt focused and in shape
against douglas.
:D Um ok...neither was Toney for that fight.
If you want to whine about being in shape and lack of focus as excuses for a fighter, than no fighter has a better excuse for sub-par performances than James Toney. Who's been out of shape more, and out of focus more than James Toney over the years?
Stop being a hypocrite, and a lamer.
robin givens was playing
with his mind.
So a ***** messed up Mike Tyson. I guess Iron Mike should change his name to Iron *****.
a focused and in shape mike
tyson is hard to beat.
A focused and in shape Iron Mike got his ass handed to him fair and sqaure by Evander Holyfield....
oh wait! Evander was headbutting!! lol. What an idiot.
I just wanted to point out a robberry I saw.
You wanted to be an ******* and I pulled your card....now go crawl under a hole.
BrooklynBomber 01-21-2005, 10:06 PM Damnnnn...... Somebody just got owned ;)
Mike Tyson Jr. 01-21-2005, 10:14 PM no forget this guy. hes bringing
up stuff that we aint even talking
about. hes getting mad to for no reason
and i said I dont wanna argue with no
body. i jus simply saw the fight and
commented on what I saw. and what I saw
was a robberry. if you wanna keep talking
about mike go ahead. but what does that
have to do with the toney/tiberi fight.
it aint nothing personal Chico. I pointed out
other robberies on here 2 so stop getting mad.
ChicoEscuelaNYC 01-21-2005, 10:23 PM i jus simply saw the fight and
commented on what I saw.
Yes, and your "comments" were that Toney "isn't great" because you feel he should have lost a decision to the "nobody" Dave Tiberi...the only thing I did was carry that SAME EXACT logic over to the Tyson/Douglas fight, and you've been crying like a ***** ever since.

i aint here to argue. so
I aint gonna say another
thing to your ass. Ill just
let the poeple watch it and
decide.
ChicoEscuelaNYC 01-21-2005, 10:28 PM I aint gonna say another
thing to your ass.
You can't say **** because I pulled your card.
Now go play in traffic, hypocrite.

defeat.
jack_the_rippuh 01-21-2005, 10:32 PM Okay, guys.. party is over. Stop all the *****ing before I report this thing. Yes, I'm a snitch..
ChicoEscuelaNYC 01-21-2005, 10:33 PM accept the

as day that he did.
ChicoEscuelaNYC 01-21-2005, 10:45 PM I aint gonna take it back
Nor do I want you to.
You argued Toney isn't great because he lost to a nobody. The same logic carries over to Tyson regardless.
Thanks for admitting and acknowledging in this thread that Tyson isn't great. Now go change your nick, *****.
Mike Tyson Jr. 01-21-2005, 10:50 PM Nor do I want you to.

tyson was never involved in any
robberies and always admitted to
defeat with no excuses. he ruled the
heavyweigt division for 3 solid years
destroying anyone in front of him
encluding the great larry holmes.
his record dont lie. enough said.
you aint gonna find one robbery in
mikes record.
ChicoEscuelaNYC 01-21-2005, 10:54 PM I repeat:
You argued Toney isn't great because he lost to a nobody. The same logic carries over to Tyson regardless of all your excuses, hand-waving, bull****, and balogna.
We can keep this going forever if you like.
Mike Tyson Jr. 01-21-2005, 11:00 PM I repeat:

I have to eat dinner pretty soon
but if you keep talkin your bull****
ill keep going. even though i told you
i dont want to argue with your emotional
dum ass. this fight points out that toney
is beatable. cause everyone talks like toney
is gonna save the heavyweigt divsion. he aint
doin it hes 2 damn small. the big heavyweights
will kill his fat ass. and mike would bury him if
they ever fought. stop please being an emotional
sonofa***** and lets be done with this.
Atwa_66 01-21-2005, 11:02 PM For the record, James Douglas KOing Tyson is the sweeetest Knockout in Boxing history, I don't care who you are, unbeleviable stuff
Mike Tyson Jr. 01-21-2005, 11:03 PM For the record, James Douglas KOing Tyson is the sweeetest Knockout in Boxing history, I don't care who you are, unbeleviable stuff
not as sweet as lennox knockin
out Golota in one round.
Mike Tyson Jr. 01-21-2005, 11:12 PM ill talk to you later Chico
but i wont take it back
i saw what i saw and toney loss that
fight. sorry if it makes you mad
but thats the truth. alright ima
log off now.
FrankJack 01-22-2005, 12:36 AM This argument is stupid, it's not even anything to get upset about. This whole thing just looks very childish.
ADmitted defeat? He got KNOCKED OUT, you moron....what was he supposed to say?
:D :D :D :D
mike lost to
buster fair and square and admitted
it.
Sadly this is not true the Tyson-King team did not want to admit defeat and filed protest claiming Douglas should have counted out when he was KD in the 8th.
Also saying the KO of Tyson was not correct since the fight should have been stopped at the 8th, and claiming the result should be altered and Tyson to be still champ.
Maybe you remember the sad press conference with Tyson and his leecher crew counting the Douglas KO on tape 1..2..3..

Good point. That guy just digs himself deeper and deeper! Is he trying to look dumb?
The lack of logic in his pathetic excuses is funny though.
Mike Tyson Jr. 01-22-2005, 12:14 PM none of you guys seen james
toney vs. tiberi?

if you would have watched the movie
about mike tysons life you have seen
that behind the sceens mike siad he lost
the fight but Don King forced him to say
he won and there was a long count. Don king force
him to say the long count. watch that mike tyson
movie you'll see. did you see the toney verses
tiberi fight?
theironone 01-22-2005, 12:43 PM Your ****in unreal Jr accept the fact that alot of your points hold no water, I've got that toney fight and yes he lost but thats life, he got a gift so what like chico pointed out he got robbed twice against griffin.
Team Tyson played **** up after Douglas, you take the rough with the smooth, look closley and see the words TEAM TYSON PLAYED **** UP, that's the whole crew including mike and do you realise how stupid you sound saying that Don King FORCED mike into it, you really think Mike would be forced into anything especially by a OAP
jswa17 01-22-2005, 12:43 PM damn..i'd like to see those fights of Toney against Tiberi and Griffin... anybody has it?
none of you guys seen james
toney vs. tiberi?
I think alot of people on this site have seen James and Tiberi get it on, you are right it was a bad decision-but not a decision where you should even think for a second about defining him by.
As for Tyson, I am a huge Tyson fan,it's sad for me because no matter what he does I still will never root against him...in a way I love Mike just like you, however you keep saying that Mike admitted defeat...
It has already been pointed out to you that Mike was Ko'd so there is nothing to admit right? KJ above brought up the best point, as big a Tyson fan as you must be you have to remember that Team Tyson did the exact opposite of "admit defeat" they wanted a ko defeat over turned...I was young and stupid at the time and I wanted it overturned as well...now that I am older and have a bit more complex brain I have realized that the inquiry was complete ****...
Mikey Jr.....your right Tiberi got hosed...
Mikey Jr.....your wrong Mike did not admit defeat, he let his crew do the talking and although he eventually did accept the defeat there wasn't much else if anything he could have done...your in the same boat Jr, the inquiry is over and the result has been finalized, now do what Mike and Al Gore eventually did which was to concede.
Tyson back to the top! In our dreams right Jr.

I have indeed seen this fight and James Toney did lose that fight.
tonytucker 01-22-2005, 03:09 PM James Toney lost that fight really. He lost because he had trouble making the weight and was really drained of his stamina at fight time-you dig? Later brother brolog.
SweetScience 01-22-2005, 04:25 PM That was the lazy fat slob Toney era.

say it.
The Phantom Menace 01-22-2005, 05:11 PM As far as gift decisions go I dont believe I have seen a worse gift decision than this.
bonafuwa 01-22-2005, 08:57 PM This thread is ****ing funny man. Toney, Tiberi, Tyson Jr. etc. It played out like a Chappelle skit. So Toney got a gift decision, every hall of famer has one of those. Ali-Norton and Holyfield-Lewis come to mind.

What you see in the movie does NOT have to be true! (example Lord of the Rings did not really happened).
But glad you agree that Tyson denied the Douglas victory (what ever his motivations or motivator).

Yes I have seen the fight and have the fight on tape (it is the cut glove fight)
It is NOT Toneys best performance by far, I believe he underestimated Tiberi. Toney tires quickly (after 3 rounds) and the pressure of Tiberi make sure he never gets his second wind.
Tiberi throws the most punches. But a lot are no-counts ('specially on the inside), either misses and on the arms, or punches with the underside (!) and the inside of the gloves (and low blows!). Toney lands more of his punches, these are the the harder and cleaner punches, but the total of punches thrown is less, but he does lands the most power shots. Tiberi dictates the pace and forces toney backwards. Tibery was hurt in the first, toney was tired but never hurt.
To my opinion: many rounds are close, and also is the fight; Frank Brunette 111-117 for Tiberi has, again to my opinion, poo in his eyes; but I would also score it closer than William Lerch and Frank Garza who both had it 115-112 for Toney.
I have the fight for Toney being the champ and the 1 point deduction at a draw.
(If you watched it on abc, turn of the sound and watch the fight again.)
So if it a stolen decission it is not more stolen as the draw against McCallum was stolen from Toney, and not as much a bad decission as the Montell Griffin fights.
When we are discussing this fight I would also give a "less competence" note for the referee, it took him 5 rounds before he warned Tiberi for repeated low blows (and than deducted a point after one warning!?). And after that no more warnings (even after a series of hooks on the hips, that made Toney limp afterwards! (Seen Toney limp with his right leg when Tiberi gets the tape of his glove fixed?))
Mike's team denied the loss for about
a week. After that he finally admited
publicly that he loss. to this day
James toney will not admit he loss to
Tiberi.
Denying is not accepting. Period!
I am not getting into a who denied it the longest contest.
And it is not a FACT don King made Tyson deny his loss, but movie fiction.
Also it was until after their protest did not bear fruits, and the WBC, WBA and IBF reacted and said Buster was the rightful champ that the Tyson leechers stopped shouting this thing.
What else was there left than to live with the defeat?!
As far as gift decisions go I dont believe I have seen a worse gift decision than this.
Seen much worse!
glenny 01-23-2005, 08:30 AM I'd say the first cracks in tyson showed up in the first bruno fight. He was far from prime in the douglas fight. I'm a Tyson fan but i do think that he'd have struggled with douglas even at his best. Douglas was a beautiful boxer in spurts. I wish he'd really kept it together.
By the way you guys over in the states are so lucky to have loads of boxing on tv. It's not too good in Britain at the moment. i think i'll have to move on over!
PessimisticPug 02-07-2005, 10:17 PM I remember watching that fight. I was training out of the same stable as James was and he was very quiet when he returned from that fight. I am not picking on james here, I believe him to be one of the most talented fighters around. But he lost that fight and then lost to Reggie Johnson too.............Rockin'
Slipx 02-07-2005, 10:41 PM Yeah it's well known that Mike Tyson Jr. is a ****head in general- but just because he doesn't use proper grammar or word his posts correctly doesn't make him less intelligent than you. Someone burned him for using bad grammar, maybe his native language isn't English, if it is then damn that is bad I guess. Anyway moving on, he gave me bad karma titled "spinks nuthugger" lol in a Judah -Spinks thread for disagreeing with him about something, which is ironic since I wanted spinks to get dropped..however luckily his reputation is in the ****ter so it didn't take any reputation of mine away ;-) eat a dick tysonjr ;-)

Are you saying that Mike Tyson Jr. has valid points and is a valued contributor to the BoxingScene community?
Enayze 02-08-2005, 11:53 AM Tyson didn't have a ****en choice but to "Admit defeat"...Blubber Douglas knocked the mouthpiece out of his mouth and Tyson was hugging the ref to hold him up. :D
Tiberi/Toney was a back and forth war of aggressor vs counter puncher...Toney probably lost the fight, but since you're new to the sport I'll let you in on something....Toney was robbed twice against Montell Griffin so it kind of evens out.
Now get a life.
Remember when Tyson actually managed to unify all the titles and become undisputed champ unlike Toney. Do you also remember when Tyson managed to become the youngest heavyweight champ ever? Do you also remember Toney losing to Thadzi, Jones, and Griffin (twice!!! lol).
Enayze 02-08-2005, 11:56 AM i aint here to argue. so
I aint gonna say another
thing to your ass. Ill just
let the poeple watch it and
decide.
Your not here to argue? What the hell do you think a forum is for? Dont let him own you. Tyson is light years beyond Toney when it comes to accomplishments, fighters, and popularity.

Everybodies entitled to their opinion but Jr see's alot of things through rose tinted specs
PessimisticPug 02-08-2005, 12:34 PM James was not robbed in the fights with montell Griffen, Griffen just had his number. Every fighter will have a style that he just cant deal with. As a matter of fact, shortly after Montell was in the olympics, before his first pro fight, Jackie brought Montell to Galaxy in Redford, Mi to check him out. I watched James and Montell spar twice, and even then Montell was giving James all that he could handle and James was the reigning world champion. The guy was just a slick fighter pure and simple and he was one thjat would always give james trouble.......Rockin'

Maybe through **** tinted specs.
joeboxer 02-08-2005, 12:50 PM James Toney would destroy Mike Tyson, he would probably retire him just like he pretty much did to Evander, he would embarass and humiliate Tyson just like he did in this Forum.

LMAO, prime for prime Toney would be out there in the first round.

So, who cares? Prime for Prime Toney would weigh 168 pounds.
HayeFan 02-08-2005, 08:02 PM Toney vs Klitschko MUST happen. I'd love to see that fat bastard being bullied into submission.
I'd pick Byrd to do a number on him as well.
Tiberi? Who the fu*k gives a sh*t about Tiberi. Toney lost the most significant fight of his career by a country mile, who cares if Tiberi deserved a W.
tyson would likely take care of toney even today.
he's not a heavweight!
DiegoFuego 02-09-2005, 01:10 AM Somebody post that fight in the downloads section and we'll all decide who won it.
ChicoEscuelaNYC 02-09-2005, 06:18 PM Remember when Tyson actually managed to unify all the titles and become undisputed champ unlike Toney.
In one of the worst heavyweight eras in history, while Toney was doing work in the loaded middle and supermiddle weight divisions -- yes.
I also remember Tyson paying Lewis and ducking Holyfield in order to avoid being exposed quicker than he was by Blubber Douglas.
Do you also remember when Tyson managed to become the youngest heavyweight champ ever?
You mean by knocking out the legendary Trevor Berbick? Yeah, I remember that.
Do you also remember Toney losing to Thadzi,
Yes, I remember Tyson losing to the great Blubbler Douglas via humilating knock out much better though.
Jones,
How embarassing...a loss to the the gretest pound for pound fighter of our era, and top 20 fighter of all time.
and Griffin (twice!!! lol).
He beat Griffin twice, and was robbed twice. Obviously you didn't see either fight.
ChicoEscuelaNYC 02-09-2005, 06:20 PM If the mods give me access to the downloads section I'll be more than happy to upload the Toney-Tiberi fight in its entirety.

The heavyweight era wasn't weak Tyson was that good. If Toney won both times against Griffin, than he surely lost to Dave Tiberi you hypocrite. Tiberi a much more convincing job against him than he did against Griffin.

Name me the best heavyweight Tyson beat, and then tell me where that heavyweight falls under the list of all time great heavyweights.
Your choice consists of
Razor Ruddock
Andrew Golota
Trevor Berbick
Michael Spinks
Old ass Larry Holmes
Your choice.

I think he did lose to Tiberi and I've never stated otherwise. Learn how to read, idiot.
Tiberi a much more convincing job against him than he did against Griffin.
Not really, but whatever floats your boat.
