Are this guys serious??? Do they really think that ppl will pay to see them fight?

I think they will. Antonio Tarver is the proven light heavy champion of the world, and Hopkins is one of the best middleweights ever. Tarver wins, possibly by stoppage, in a ****ing awful, boring fight...but yep, people will buy it

I won't buy this fight. That is the only way to put an end to irrelevant PPV's - stop feeding the pig.

It's not like Hopkins is likely to go in there and fight like a lion. This will be 6 rounds of nothing, then slightly more for the next 6 rounds. Big whup. I think Hopkins has an even chance to win though, because Tarver likes to do nothing too and they can split the rounds.

The sad thing is that big names will generate PPV dollars almost every time. Just look at the numbers put up for Tarver-Jones III. And wait until the buy numbers for the pathetic Vargas-Mosley card come out...bet you they will be high.

Lot of ignorant people out there.

And most of those ppv sells have to be credited to Jones draw...Hell, in all of Hopkins PPV's he's not the guy that sell the ppv and put culos on those seats...Even in his two fights with Taylor...imo.

Tarver's continuing to lose his case by seeking money instead of true fan recognition. :(

He thinks he's one of the greatest middleweights of all time and so does everybody else. He just wants one more fight before he retires

I really don't think he'll get knocked out, he might lose, but no KO. Anyway, im rooting for Hopkins in this one.

I'm just glad Roy isn't fighting. Tarver and Hopkins will be boring. Tarver continues to stagnate in his career. He is nothing without a depleted Roy Jones. He should face someone of note. 41 year old Bernard Hopkins does not fit that bill.

Hopkins can win this fight. Tarver will have problems with weight afer bulking up for the movie I think. He was huge.

ill pay to watch tarver shut hopkins up when hopkins finally does what he asked of oscar and trinidad and moves up himself. get ready for hopkins to finally use his age as an excuse even though tarver is 37 himself.

Hopkins is just going to duck Tarver the whole fight. It will be JUST like jones-tarver. Jones will run around the ring and hardly fight and Tarver will just go after them trying to make himself look good. I believe Hopkins saw the payday Jones got and thought he would do it himself.

I rather see Hopkins fighting Tarver then Jones. It will be a better fight.

I don't know about that. He wants more money before he retires. He told some ESPN writer that since he didn't make alot of money in his fights prior to joining Golden Boy, he is going to fight as much and for as much as he can. His fights suck, his style is terrible to watch, the Winky and Tarver fight looked fixed and I don't think anybody in their right mind will pay 44.99 for a hug fest. Now that he's got the modern day Don King in De La Hoya in his corner, he's gonna **** us boxing fans for another 3-4 years. I guarantee you Hopkins will not retire for at least another 6 fights. God save us all!!!!!!!
