I saw this fight too just
recently. it was one of the
worse robberies ever in boxing
Julio Chavez didnt win one round
but it was still called a draw.
Chavez is no legend in my book how
in the world can you take him seriously
after this robbery.

Julio Cesar Chavez is a legend in any true boxing fans book.

Chavez wasnt in his prime anymore, and while he didnt hurt whitaker he probably connected more often than most fighters that faced sweet pea in his prime.

Even if Chavez was in his prime, Pernell just had a difficult style for him to beat. I don't know if Chavez could ever beat Sweet Pea.

Chavez and DLH have both got some BS decisions! Whitaker could never catch a break.

Julio was indeed a beast but Sweet Pea got the best of him. Who saw Julio against Rosario...one of the most brutal whippings ever delivered?

Definitely brutal, Rosario seemed to completely concede to Chavez who wouldnt flinch at all, at Rosario's power. Chavez had the right plan he pressed Rosario onto his heels (minimized rosario's punch) and pounded away at rosario till it was rightfully stopped.

I still think the beating he gave Taylor was much more brutal though, you actually see Chavez's arms covered and streaming with Taylors blood. Hurting him many rounds. The only good thing spoken by the hbo commentators that night was Angelo Dundee's words which were, "Chavez is the toughest fighter i have ever seen bar none".

Dundee's most famous fighters:

Ali
Leonard
Foreman

So he was around the high points of boxing.

I heard that the satelitte went down during the telecast of this fight and that last 6 rounds are poor quality. Could someone who has seen this fight on tape please confirm or deny this? Thanks
