That wasn't the real Scott Pemberton, it was somebody else. Like the other thread mentioned, he looked like a complete bum. I can't believe that was the same guy who was able to outbox Lacy for some moments in their fight.

I hope I'm wrong but that fight seemed really fixed to promote The Contender 2. Just imagine if people will still tune in to that show if Manfredo was knocked out, just think about it.

Calling out Iceman Scully, was that the real Pemberton?

thats what i thought at first but i think it was just pemberoton had taken 2 much damage in previouse fights. i though it could be "contender" trying to get a guy in the top 10

manfredo's punches were no joke. that left hand was dynamite, and the fight was through

people underestimated manfredo because he was on a reality TV show, hes got skills but i dont think he will be champion

If Manfredo trains hard i think he will become champ... it takes time.. practice makes perfect...anyone could be a champ.. you just gotta beilive in yourself..

I cannot believe anybody would actually point out times that Pemberton may have landed one or two jabs vs Lacy and call it outboxing...you must REALLY love him...

I like the guy, but his time is over...felt bad after his last two fights...I wish he could have held a world title

The fight wasn't fixed, Pemberton's just shot. Good performance for Manfredo. I don't think he should stay at 168 or even 160 in all honesty. I think he should drop back to 154.

fixed my ass. manfredo fought well against an old guy. saying it was fixed is desrespectful to both fighters.

Saying a fight is fixed is uncalled for.. What's the point? He won leave it at that.. and all of ya know it... Give manfredo his props.

excactly, if this fight was fixed pemberton deserves an oscar because that was phenomenal acting.

I don't think it was fixed but I found it amusing that there was a thread because I remember watching the second knockdown and the angle didn't really show it and the replay mad eit look like he might have missed him or grazed him at best. I just found it ironic there was a post about it

i think pemberton should retire.. he was a B fighter.. lets be honest.. he was very slow in that fight.. if u ask me.. manfredo winning is good for boxing.. hes young and hell prolly sell alot of tickets

I agree with you completely. How old is Pemberton? I knew he was getting KOed tonite. Plus Manfredo Jr. has just benifited a great deal from being under Roach.

hah...pemberton NEVER at any point outboxed lacy. its disgusting that people even infer that he did.

** I don't recall anyone saying he did. Scott did a credible job of fighting back and landed some good power on Lacy before the KD. Lacy was just too overwhelming.

On paper one would expect more of a scrap than a blowout against Manfredo who had his hands full against the featherfisted Mora. Pemberton should have quite a bit more power than Mora and certainly has more experience against bigger world class opposition. He is pretty old for a fighter though, and maybe age finally showed up. Only he knows.

honestly i dont think pemberton has been the same since the sheika bouts. those wars took a lot out of him even though he won

Manfredo boxed his ass off and looked good doing it. I think Scottie has been in too many wars and it caught up with him.

Pemberton is having more of a reaction from punches now. he is getting stunned a lot easier from good shots, but not anything devistating in this fight. there wasn't anything with any real stank on it, just clean hits are affecting him to where he is more in survival mode instead of fight mode like he used too.

I hope Pemberton reevaluates his career and looks more towards his health and his future. I don't want to see him get hurt in the ring.

Scotty looked like Scotty. Like I said in my previous posts, just because Scott pemberton fought Lacy, that does not make him a world class fighter. Many people said "Pemberton is too good for Manfredo". While some of us said that Peter would KO him. Peter looked very strong. He was fast, and his footwork (probably bc of roach) was much better. He was dodging punches, sticking and moving, jabbing, and putting impressive combinations together.

I don't think we saw a different Scotty, We saw a different Peter! :D

I have to question that first knockdown. Pemberton looked like he took a knee after the hook, and Peter cracked him with the uppercut anyway. Was Pem's knee down? Anyway, Manfredo was underestimated, and Pemberton just looked very stiff and uncomfortable, he should retire.

He was crouching down, then was cracked and went down.

I don`t think fix is the word. If an opponent is being hailed as the next best thing and is given all the attention by the tv network i think it can effect the other fighter and his outlook during the fight. Many Tyson opponents were intimadated by Tyson not so much because of him but who he was in boxing. They were over awed by him. This i believe is factor in certain fights!

when trying to make a fighter sound good, u usually dont mention his previous fight where he was KO'd twice, until tko'd in the seocnd round. but yes, pemberton is diffrent and is done.

off topic- scully, whats ur opinion on lacy, having seen him first hand?

I was very impressed with Manfredo.......Thats the best he has looked ever IMO.He looked stronger at 168 and if he were to fight Mora at 168 I believe he could KO him too.He is not ready for the likes of Lacy or Kessler or Calzaghe but he could be a top 15 guy after that performance and be a true contender.

Yeah those were definitely fake shots. Whatever, man. I was just as shocked as anybody else, but it really happened. Manfredo is a LOT better than I thought.

there is no way this fight was fixed , this does not happen in boxing , espiecially not a big event lyk tht

yea, and honestly, its not hard to believe. after pembertons last performance, and the fact that hes clsoing in on 40 should have made it clear that it was not going to b a good night. but no1 could have suspected one as short as this

I'm not surprised at all in the outcome. I always knew Pemberton was garbage. And about the fixing suggestion, thats not cool. The fight game has enough issues for their fans to assume the fight was fixed every time a guy scores an upset KO. Thats not cool.

I was surprised. I thought Pemberton would put Manfredo down in the first 9 minutes and it worked out the other way around. I though Manfredo was all Contender hype but it seems Roach is getting good stuff out of him. I do think it'd be a slaughter if Manfredo fought top 5 guys at 168. We'll see what his next move is
