On Mondays, stretch, warm up, and do a few light sprints, then find a good hill and run up 3 to 5 minutes at an even pace, jog down, repeat. Then a few light sprints, jog to cool off, and stretch. Tuesdays, stretch, light sprints, then jog several miles very easy, light sprints, and stretch. Wednesdays, stretch, sprints, speedwork. Find a flat track or even ground, could also have a slight incline, and run 1/4 mile up to a mile at a good, even pace (change it up now and then), light sprints, jog, and stretch. Thursdays, stretch, easy jog, stretch. Fridays. Take the day off. Saturday, which corresponds to the day of the fight, stretch, light sprints, and a long run with both hills and distance, light sprints, and stretch. This should be your toughest run of the week. Sunday, stretch, light jog, stretch. Take it easy the week before the fight. If you train good for a few months, it will kick in when you need it. |
