Problem is all the extra testing will cost money. We have to accept that some fighters may be cheating. It sucks but it's that simple. I'm sure those who juice are in the minority. I don't mind if it costs money, anyone who fights on HBO is going to be well-paid, I'm sure the costs are not too extreme as to make them unaffordable.

Compared to sports such as cycling, drug testing in boxing is a joke. I don't think boxers compete on a level playing field and more should be done to change that. The current system allows far too much potential for cheating.

It's not my money so I could care less. I'm just saying it's unrealistic to expect the sport to be perfect. Some guys are going to cheat sometime. Nothing we can do but hope it doesn't happen and violators are punished if it does.

That May-Pac stuff was stupid, but I hope the rules of the sport get changed. If HBO said that all boxers in their fights had to have random testing, it would be great for the sport. Apparently one of the big German TV companies did the same thing and it's worked well so far.

Obviously the major risk is that fights would be cancelled and cards would suffer. Felix Sturm's opponent tested positive the week before the fight and so they had to get some nobody as a replacement. But I'd rather a world champ fight a journeyman than fight a drugs cheat. I don't think HBO feel the same way.
