View Full Version : Pacquiao-Morales 3; The Thirst For Revenge
BIGPOPPAPUMP 02-07-2006, 12:58 AM It was inevitable. Despite suffering the first knockout loss of his career and many people, fans and media types alike, calling for his retirement, it didn’t come as much of a surprise that after a few weeks of licking his wounds the fighting spirit that has made Erik Morales one of the preeminent boxers of his time would resurface. You can almost envision Morales in some bar in Tijuana, nursing a Corona and seething at the mere thought that another fighter took him out. Erik has always been most dangerous when he is attacked or unjustly dismissed. Manny Pacquiao would be wise to remember that.
Pacquiao has legitimately achieved fistic greatness. He is cut from the same mold that Morales is. Both are warriors with no intention of walking down a path that has already been beaten down. The two of them constantly tread in treacherous waters. That’s what makes them so special and that’s why boxing fans pay good money to see them fight because you always know when Erik Morales and Manny Pacquiao are going to lace up the gloves you are going to get your nickels worth.
But is it too much too soon for “El Terrible”? Despite the fact that he was leading the bout going into the sixth round he showed definite signs of fatigue when the bout entered its second half. Obviously, despite what many “Pacman” diehard fans will attest, the ring wars he has battled through have taken a toll. The same will be true for Pacquiao one day. Also, Morales himself said after the bout that he couldn’t make 130 anymore. His build is of that of a lightweight, but as the Zahir Raheem bout proved, he’s not effective at that weight. One hundred and thirty pounds is as high as he can go. [details (http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&id=3033)]

flanker 02-07-2006, 01:21 AM i have a feeling that when pac/mab fight, mab will ko pac i dont know i just think itll happen.
in your dreams boy!!! MAB is hiding GAYLA HOYA'S undies for 2 years just to duck PACMAN!
MAB must be thankful for Morales, he can have more fights!

yeah pac is good lots of punches lots of energy, but barrera will get him on the 2nd fight trust me. every good fighter has rainy days, as for the nut huggers "do it like me" "just shake dem off" :D
Chups 02-07-2006, 01:24 AM Morales needs to fight somebody "winnable" first so he can look good on the third match. Pacquiao will be fighting a bum anyway in his country. If Barrera agrees to a rematch tho, I think Pacman should grab that first then take Morales.

why do you think "everybody" fears pac, one day someones gonna beat that ass trust me

he wanted him next, why doesnt pacman take a tune-up and figh MAB in september at least MAB aint coming off a ko defeat like morales. morales is old news for pacman. pacman needs to show that the first fight was no fluke againts mab he dominated morales what left to prove in that fight?
flanker 02-07-2006, 01:28 AM if you have common sense you can understand that "MAB is afraid of PACMAN".

good facts. im not saying he will win but MAB will step in againts pacman and give him a good fight. to say he is scared is just retarded, maybe he didnt want the fight right away he wants it now but pacman is going after a wounded fighter he needs to wait till after chavez MAB to sign his next fight
bigsmoothh 02-07-2006, 01:34 AM if you have common sense you can understand that "MAB is afraid of PACMAN".

why do you say that can you provide us with info. i think you are just hatin cause that loss didnt do a big dent on his career, the guy lost and now hes on top

yes on top fighting elite fighters.
Fana,Peden..
and now fighting Chavez because he has big chances of winning than fighting Pacman.
Chavez will not be the same after his last bout.
its understandable why MAB not fighting Pacman.
boxing is business, if you fight Pac you're career will be shorten.
avoiding Pac is the best thing to do for MAB to have him seven more fights.(Pacman will be his last opponent) :D

he gave those fighters a chance fana was a manditory and peden was a champ.
kg21mvp 02-07-2006, 01:48 AM why do you think "everybody" fears pac, one day someones gonna beat that ass trust me
because he floored every mexican fighter he faced show the list and it will not end nuff said
moy22487 02-07-2006, 01:51 AM because he floored every mexican fighter he faced show the list and it will not end nuff said
if he was feared no one would want to fight him like margarito and winky, people are lineing up to fight him
bigsmoothh 02-07-2006, 01:54 AM because he floored every mexican fighter he faced show the list and it will not end nuff said
ohh come on now just cause you kd a guy that dont mean they gonna fear you that bs. if any of those mexicans woulda floored pac they wouldnt be braggin about it.
legacyofbrutality 02-07-2006, 01:56 AM I do agree that a fight with Barrera makes a lot more sense and in my opinion wouldve made a lot more money than a third fight with Morales. Its crazy cuz I really do think MAB wants it now but with the third fight set he'll have to wait longer for his chance.
flanker 02-07-2006, 02:01 AM if MAB really wants a rematch, which he said he has an off night then should fight pacman long time ago.
After Pac lost to Erik last year, Pac made some excuses and prove it in the rematch! get it?
while MAB always talking and doing nothing, what can you say about that?
even kids can understand that!

dude morales had just fought raheem not long ago, dropped 38 pounds in 7 weeks, and "still" fought pac, the out come was good for pac. but a 2nd fight with barerra will not be the same as the 1st.
flanker 02-07-2006, 02:09 AM then why he make excuses? he rather shut his mouth!
legacyofbrutality 02-07-2006, 02:10 AM hey all im saying is a MAB fight wouldve made a hell of a lot more sense than a rematch with Morales,I think 90% of the people on this board would probably agree...Pacquiao is my boy and im not saying he's afraid or anything im just saying fighting erik again doesnt really make much sense.
bigsmoothh 02-07-2006, 02:12 AM then why he make excuses? he rather shut his mouth!
you still think morales/barerra are *****s?
legacyofbrutality 02-07-2006, 02:13 AM I think Pacquiao is on a higher level physically then anyone else, if and when the MAB rematch happens im not sure Barrera will be able to keep up with the speed and stamina, especially considering how old he might be if it happens.
flanker 02-07-2006, 02:14 AM Manny has nothing to prove agaisnt MAB! he annihilate it in 11 rounds.
It is MAB who has something to prove against what he said an "OFF NIGHT"
till now MAB keeps hiding in the undies of my #1 *****.
bigsmoothh 02-07-2006, 02:17 AM I think Pacquiao is on a higher level physically then anyone else, if and when the MAB rematch happens im not sure Barrera will be able to keep up with the speed and stamina, especially considering how old he might be if it happens.
thats true, pacs looked soooo fresh on the 2nd fight with morales. but honestly morales WAS winning the 5-6 rounds until he got tired. when has morales gotten tired so quick? the weight is my opinion. a 3rd fight would be interesting :D
legacyofbrutality 02-07-2006, 02:18 AM actually he kinda does have something to prove against MAB, if he fought Barrera and won, it would leave no doubt in anyones minds that hes the best.He really should consider it because its a much better career move, but oh well its Morales again so it doesnt matter.
flanker 02-07-2006, 02:22 AM thats true, pacs looked soooo fresh on the 2nd fight with morales. but honestly morales WAS winning the 5-6 rounds until he got tired. when has morales gotten tired so quick? the weight is my opinion. a 3rd fight would be interesting :D

he doesn't need it, he beat the hell out of MAB!
then MAB say's "i have an off night"
Pacman call him out to prove that he really has an "OFF night"
MAB makes any excuses just avoiding pacman.
enough is enought! understand kids? i hope so :D :D :D
bigsmoothh 02-07-2006, 02:25 AM weight? excuse again.. lolz i can understand that.
so far the rest of the people understands my point except you
your like the flood in halo

IMO I dont think two extra pounds are gonna help morales much, he's still gonna have a little trouble...Wasnt he barely able to make 135 against Raheem? I just think he's gained too much weight and cant cut down no more.
bigsmoothh 02-07-2006, 02:27 AM he doesn't need it, he beat the hell out of MAB!

He can't accept he was KTFO by 106 pounder

Yea he did say that haha i just remembered that, its kind of ironic because he doesnt seem to be "losing like a man" right now...

well he dominated both... it's not like mab was better than morales because his TKO came 1 round later :D
AIR_KENG 02-07-2006, 02:37 AM good facts. im not saying he will win but MAB will step in againts pacman and give him a good fight. to say he is scared is just retarded, maybe he didnt want the fight right away he wants it now but pacman is going after a wounded fighter he needs to wait till after chavez MAB to sign his next fight
yes, he needed time to recover... two years and the only significant opponent he faced was "old-news" morales who he knows he can beat...
by the way, i just watched the whole morales-barrera trilogy and i say mab won the three. no offense to morales fans but mab was the aggresor and much more effective boxer even in the first fight... :D
AIR_KENG 02-07-2006, 02:39 AM he gave those fighters a chance fana was a manditory and peden was a champ.
that's cheap excuse bro... fana was undeserving... did not have a ignificant win over a significant oppoenent and gave him a chance??? it was the ultimate sacrifice! just to make ab look active...
AIR_KENG 02-07-2006, 02:42 AM you still think morales/barerra are *****s?
funny how you open up topics like this and then attack pac fans after, lol... :D

I can't believe you guys are willing to argue with what's clearly a stupid 12 year old child. He, much like some of his pals here, won't accept any reasoning, just because he still doesn't learn how to reason. All you'll see are innane sentences like these:
"MAB is coward, Manny anihilate him. MAB not want remach. He a mexican pusy. Pacman is greatest all time, he OWNED Morales. :D "
Of course, I'm being quite generous regarding his Grammar, but you get the point.
It is of no use, really. I've known walls that are more receptive than these idiots.

Agreed.I said this before in the other thread, there were negotiations for a title fight between PAC and Peden first. Then Golden Boy came in and offered Peden a fight against Barrera. The question is why didnt GBP offer the "chance" to Pac instead? Is it because Robbie held a belt and Pac did not?Oh please...PAC-MAB would make a ton more money and prove to the world that MAB was on an "off-night"...Well, the only answer is, MAB can win against Peden. But he cant against PAC.

I thought it was evident I was talking about Flanker. Read his posts and you'll understand.

Um, no. Actually the answer to the origina question is: because Manny was looking for a tuneup before the Morales rematch, which was already signed for. There was no way Pac - MAB II could have been made before Pac - Morales II.
You really need to clever up.
