Hearns stops Landberg!
By Andre Courtemanche at ringside
A huge crowd of 15,121 saw 47-year-old ring legend Thomas "Hit Man" Hearns continue his comeback Saturday night at the Palace of Auburn Hills. An exhausted "Hitman" stepped on the gas late to score a tenth round TKO over Shannon "Sandman" Landberg. There were no knockdowns, but referee Dale Grable waived the fight off at 1:35 of the tenth to protect Landberg who was being pummeled at the end. Earlier, Hearns' undefeated super middleweight son Ronald scored a second round knockout over Kirk "The Movie Star" Douglas. Hearns dropped Douglas twice in round two. Time was 2:12.
