Clay AikSkins 01-18-2005, 11:42 PM Did anyone catch the PBS show. I thought it was incredible. It made me see Jack in a whole new light. I thought Ali was the greatest but I am rethinking that. What are your thoughts? and please vote in the poll above.

Duran was already past his best days when that fight happend.
Clay AikSkins 01-19-2005, 04:59 PM good point on Duran he was past his prime but did have some nice performances against Hagler and Barkley.

"A true warrior never quits", like Mike didn't quit in the Williams fight. This Mike guy is just too predictable. Best chin: Mike Tyson, hardest puncher: Mike Tyson, fastest fighter ever: Mike Tyson, greatest trainer: Mike's trainer Cus D'Mato, most underrated: Mike Tyson, best ever: Mike Tyson. We get it you love Mike, damn!

Hearns did wear duran out....but Leonard could not stand toe to toe with Duran and win he had to box him. Not bad for a blown up lightweight.

back to this thread though that documentary did kick ass. I posted a thread about it in boxing history. They should do a documentary in generatl about a history of black fighters in America

It would be a week's long documentary.
roXy graziano 01-20-2005, 11:09 AM that's why I just want to see something on the first half of the century turn of the century to the 40s maybe. Or I wish there was a documentary on the Jewish/Irish rivalry of the 20/30/40s.
there's plenty of info most people know about lots of heavyweights from the 60's to present but the early 1900s is lesser known

yes you are right. there are a lot of skilled fighters that most know nothing about really.
