Did anyone get a chance to see the first half of ken Burn's documentary Unforgivable Blackness: The Rise and Fall of Jack Johnson.

I thought it was phenominal. The white crowds would call him every name in the book and he just smiled and kicked ass.

Interesting note. There were 2 events in US history that sparked nation wide race riots.

1. the asassination of martin Luther King Jr. and 2. When jack Johnson defeated Jim Jefferies.

Part 2 starts in 10 minutes.

I watched the first part yesterday, it shows at 9 here west coast, still have 3 hrs.

Part 2 just ended here in the East. Absolutely awesome!

I new some of the Jack johnson story, but I had no idea what an incredible individual this guy was. His strength inside the ring and out is awe inspiring. He was a man ahead of his time.
