It probably isn't true according to the people at the Hatton forums.

I think Hatton would make him say no mas like he did against corrales.

ive read this too, its a much more acceptable match up than his ibf no1, he needs a name for his US debut

At the momment, too much risk, not enough money. Aliceno needs a decent solid win to re - establish himself but i wouldn't frown at this fight. I`d favour hatton but if this fight was made i wouldn't be upset. Could be a good one and you would have to say Hatton could lose given his cuts and walk forward stlye. But i`d favour Hatton strongly to win!

Popo is supposed to fight April 29th on HBO against Zahir Raheem pending a signing of the contract. In that case, he would at best be Hatton's second fight in the states

I like Arcelino Freitas, I really do, but the Raheem match-up makes a lot more sense. He got stopped by my boy Chico at 135, and he's thinking of going up to 140 to take on the relentless Hatton? Just doesn't sound like a great idea to me, but you never can tell. I'd still buy the PPV, though.

I don't know man I thought Freitas fought a completely awful fight against Corrales and just ran out of gas.

That was long time ago. When fighter come back from a loss they dont come back as equal but someone stronger, faster and more endurance thirsty for a win.

Pope is young and have a long time in boxing there is no reason that he could make an upset Hatton.

Well thats what I was implying, Freitas choose to fight the wrong fight.

i think popo will be dangerous for a few (4ish) rounds then hatton will simply wear him down, popos small size will help him early but hinder him late, should be good fight

why would hatton want this fight except for an explosive us debut i guess. he will only get made fun of and people will say corrales wrecked freitas already and freitas is a 135 pound fighter. hatton should fight someone known at 140 i think. he would be wise to jump on gatti at welter. he could come in at 140.1 just for that fight if he wants to still campaign at 140.
