View Full Version : Eric : From the frying pan to the fire
psychopath 01-17-2005, 07:02 PM Erik Morales is the epitome of the old-school prize fighter, the type that is not shy about fighting one mean hombre after another.
It was just Nov. 27 when Morales engaged Marco Antonio Barrera over 12 grueling rounds in a fight won narrowly by Barrera, a fight that probably will be selected fight of the year by most boxing publications . . .

This is what I like with Morales. A fight is a fight like business is business. There is one more thing I like in this guy, his killer instinct. If he sees his opponent hurt, he will give everything he got no matter what round they are in.
.::|ULTIMATE|::. 01-17-2005, 07:42 PM Erik is a man's man.
He is a warrior, he dont like to talk out of his ass, he says what he means and he does what he says. He dont talk smack if he dont mean it, and he is gentleman if you are to him. But if you talk **** to him, he dont swallow his pride even if he looses. He'll hate you till the end.
I like when he is fighting sometimes he'll get hit and crowd goes... oooooooh... and he feels obligated to answer back. Plus he considers himself a computer nerd.. how cool is that?
adeelr 01-17-2005, 07:47 PM Moralles is no underdog, he is more experienced and is quite capable of commanding the fight against manny.

He might be an underdog for the betting boxing public but certainly not in terms of skills and experience.
grayfist 01-17-2005, 07:59 PM Erik deserves RESPECT IN ALL CAPS!
What I like most about the latest development is that Pacquiao is given the chance to face a bigger marquee (much, much, much bigger) fighter than Marquez--- no less than a Morales--- while Marquez and Baristain are left with having to "persuade" some little known also champ from the lower weight classafter raising a "purse issue".
This is evidence (tough to controvert) that Pacquiao is the bigger stellar attraction than Marquez and that Marquez's refusal to face Manny in the form of asking for more money than Manny has no leg to stand on.

that is where your wrong, Erik fought way more better opponents than Mp, so i dont see where you got your info from, Mp biggest fights IMO are JMM and MAB

I know Eric fought more named opponents than Pac that's why I'm saying he's just an underdog with the betting public not in terms of skills and experience . . . are we on the same frequency here? :D

That's what PSO_Junior meant.
Sister Sledge 01-18-2005, 01:09 AM Morales is the kind of fighter that we need more of. He is willing to risk everything to prove that he is the best. Big props to him.
Tha Greatest 01-18-2005, 02:29 AM There is no way morales one "Once and for all"
it shouldn't have even been majority decision
not even close to a draw
morales won like 4 rounds max
i made 2 bets on tha fight with ppl in my gym that pacquiao will win
#1. $2 - Tha guy aint to confident so he won't bet more
#2. 100 pushups on the sidewalk outside my gym which is full of crackheads and crazy people
GO PACQUIAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Manila Eyes 01-18-2005, 02:41 AM Erik is a Warrior who deserves nothing less than another Warrior as an opponent. This fight's gonna be ballistic !
AIR_KENG 01-18-2005, 03:03 AM not that i am disagreeing but pac is putting in lots of risks too!!! i actually think that he took a higher risk when he deicided to omve into the superfeatherweight division, so in that case, manny and erik are the fighters that we need today... pretty good fight to wait and see...
