Next Great Champ winner in WBO 8-round title bout
Promoter Roy Englebrecht's first show since the restructing of Golden Boy Promotions, and the reestablishing of Roy Englebrecht Promotions after a three year hiatus, will take place on February 3 at the ARCO Arena in Sacramento, CA. In the co-feature, "Next Great Champ" $500,000 winner Otis Griffin (3-1, 1 KO) finally gets the "title" fight he earned on Oscar De La Hoya's boxing reality show. Griffin faces unbeaten James Sundin (6-0, 2 KOs) for the WBO light heavyweight eight-round championship. It will be a special night for Griffin, as he is from Sacramento, and this is first fight in his hometown. The main event is a California state featherweight championship bout between Ivan Cazarez (12-5, 4 KOs) vs Jose Gonzalez (10-2, 3 KOs).

I dont beleive in this t.v show. I dont think this is a good thing for boxing. reality tv shows are not that real, there are possibly other guyz that deserve the title fight more than this tv show contest winner.

that is true it takes away the chance that a real fighter might get huh but its all about politics you know and homw much money they could make out of the fighters so if they have a huge fan base they will pay big bucks to see someone they know fight

The Fix

i think it is a good thing for boxing because it gives the sport publicity. they may even create a star

Otis Griffin fighting for the WBO light heavyweight eight-round championship. What the **** is that?

These meaningless titles are a great bother. Every other boxer is a "champion" of some sort.

Stop bashing all the title holders. I myself am the 3 and a half round Super Half Flyweight Latino American Champion for the New York City area. So stop hatin!
