View Full Version : Matt Skelton vs Danny Williams!
Parody 01-28-2006, 07:55 PM This fight is happening in February, Williams who in July didnt turn up to this fight, has rescheduled it...Danny Williams took this fight as soon as coming off a Split decision to Audley Harrison...
Who do you guys will win this fight?
I say Skelton by TKO in 8th Round.
Kimmy 01-28-2006, 07:57 PM This is the test for Skelton but so far he has looked very good. I think Williams is capable of winning skill wise but Williams usually follows a good win with a loss.
Skelton TKO 10
Parody 01-28-2006, 08:00 PM Skelton hits very hard, when Danny Williams pulled off his fight with Skelton in July, Skelton faced some other opponent and he didnt even watch this other opponents tapes or anything and it could have affected his training but he still beat Mark Krence (21-3) by a seventh round TKO, he Recently beat John McDermott (19-2) by a first round TKO.
Mr. Ryan 01-28-2006, 08:05 PM Holy ****, let me clear my calender! :boxing: I hate the heavyweights. Its hard for me to get excited about a fight between 2 foreigners who aren't even ranked in the top ten of the division. It just doesn't make any sense to me.
I think Skelton is going to get caught with a big right hand early in the fight. Williams is way more experienced, has been in big fights, and knows he's at the end of the rope. His weight shouldn't be an issue...because Skelton is right there for him to hit.

Skelton is very Underrated, come feb 25 we will see who can beat who, Skelton wins by 11th Round TKO

Well don't log into the thread then. Prick.
RAESAAD 01-30-2006, 11:16 AM I went with Williams although I am really not sure....I have never seen Skleton fight.
Oasis_Lad 01-30-2006, 11:16 AM williams by late ko
!! Anorak 01-30-2006, 11:18 AM Probably the most exciting part of this match-up is that the options for "points wins" needn't have been included... I can't see this going 12 rounds.
I actually think Danny will win inside seven. Skelton had a hard time against Mirovic and had one eye closed... if Mirovic had continued it might have been different.
Skelton's chin is solid, though you could argue it hasn't been tested... certainly not against Danny's power level. He's also not a KO puncher, with his record flattering him.

Skelton is a good fighter, Chek him out on February 25th..
LS-Injection 01-30-2006, 01:04 PM Williams TKO/KO or Decision!
da_realist1 01-30-2006, 01:34 PM For Those That Don't Know Skelton Was World Champ At Kick Boxing So Imagine Him Also Becoming World Champ IN BOXING....but His Kick Boxing Stance Should Mean He Can Take A Punch.
He'll Definately Win No Doubt About It.

I already know that, He has a SOLID Chin, he can take a punch..and he sure can give one!
Parody 01-30-2006, 01:48 PM The Winner of Skelton/Williams will face Nikolay Valuev for the WBA title.
!! Anorak 01-30-2006, 02:07 PM Matt Skelton is currently 18-0 (17 KO's)
Lets Compare Skeltons Last 7 Fights and Williams Last 7 Fights:
While you might have something in terms of Danny's decline, Skelton's record flatters him greatly. He's NOT a one-punch KO artist like Williams can be, and while his chin has been solid so far, he's never faced anyone with Danny's firepower.
Clearly the names on Danny's recent record - Vitali Klitschko and even a shot Tyson - far outstrip anyone Skelton has faced.
The Michael Sprott points loss for Danny/TKO in the 12th for Skelton is also highly misleading.
Danny is boxing's biggest mind ****... he'd already fought and laid out Sprott TWICE. COLD, too, not just a TKO after being leant on for twelve rounds. The night he "lost" he was still beating Sprott (who was battered by the end of it) but showboated away too many of the rounds.
It should also be noted that this was a time when British title fights were scored by the referee only, not three judges, so it was one man's (the ever-popular Dave Parris) opinion that he "lost". Even Sprott didn't think he'd won.
!! Anorak 01-30-2006, 02:11 PM Williams vs Harrison (19-0) Williams won by Split Decision
(Just because of 1 Knockout he got in the late round)
While I'm on the subject (I'm not having a go at you btw, TG, I'm just climbing on Danny's nuts ready for the fight) I should point out that the scores were for Williams: 113-114, 116-112, 116-113
So even WITHOUT the knockdown (and let's assume that the knockdown won Danny that round) the scores would have been 112-116, 115-114, 115-115, a draw. And that's assuming the KD got Danny the round.
-Jay- 01-30-2006, 02:14 PM I have some faith in Danny, I think he'll win by a poor KO in the 12th.
!!Captain 01-30-2006, 02:17 PM One thing, IMO, every one agrees on, is that Williams got one hell of a chin and one hell of a heart. He stood against Tyson's storm in the first round and took unbelievable beating from Klitschko for 8 rounds and never gave up. I don't know much about Skelton but from what I read his only advantage is to rough up his opponents, which will not work with Williams. I see it as a UD for Williams. I also think Williams could KO Valuev if that fight ever happens.

I can watch Danny take that beating from Vitali again and again, hes got a chin of stone and a heart that will never give in. But with that said I've never seen Skelton fight.....
!! Anorak 01-30-2006, 02:36 PM For those that are interested, here's Skelton's last fight against a late replacement with ***** tits (241mb MPG, includes post-bout interview with Skelton, who's got a DEEP voice):

I won't be offended if you want to give points/karma for this upload. :luvbed:
LS-Injection 01-30-2006, 04:09 PM Hey!!! I don't really like the way Skelton fights!
Looking forward to this fight, I'll back Danny to win for sure
KO Round 12
Hursty 01-30-2006, 04:51 PM Danny looked truly awful in his last fight against Harrison. The only reason he got the win was because Harrison was even worse, and if his stamina wasn't so bad he may even have been able to stop Danny.
He's going to have to train properly this time if he wants to beat Skelton.
!!! Beowulf !!! 01-30-2006, 05:26 PM I hedged my bets and voted for all 4 options......
!! Anorak 01-30-2006, 06:15 PM I hedged my bets and voted for all 4 options......
Yer crazy ****!
psychopath 01-30-2006, 06:56 PM Williams has one punch knock out power, he's got the heart and experience so I'm rooting for him.
Skelton needs to do better that Wlad to stop Williams.
LS-Injection 01-30-2006, 07:20 PM Very, exactly true!
Seriously.
If Williams beats Skelton in impressive fashion, then fights Valuev and wins that title.
He would be a legitimate heavyweight champion with his punch.
