barely 2 weeks into the new year, i only have one resolution to accomplish and I F_CK_D UP, i just smoked my first cigarette of 2005 this morning, I just hope that I can control my urge more so this will not be a chain smoking comeback disaster...

How about you guys, are you still keeping up with you new year's resolutions, if not how long/early from the new year did you mess up your resolution ???

Have a suggestion ... Pare why don't you try to penalize yourself everytime you smoke. Say, you save an extra P100 (or whatever currency you earn there) everytime you smoke a piece. Or think of a harder penalty or something....Who knows, it might work .... :D

I tried to quit several times before I was successful. I really think that what made it possible was that I asked my Doc to prescribe Welbutrin XR. It not only helps with the cravings but also with weight-gain.
I highly recommend it.

A favorite exchange from "Cheers":
Woody: "Would you like a beer, Mr. Peterson?"
Norm: "Sure Woody, but stop me after two."
(pause)
"On second thought, make it two thirty"

Bro, it is said that to stop smoking is a most easy thing to do. In fact, I myself stopped smoking more than a hundred times na!! (Ok, that's a little exag...LESS than a hundred, he-he... :D )

Seriously, I used to have a small library-full of "How To Stop Smoking" materials, but nothing really worked.

But there was one technique that did the trick - I gathered all my will power and determination and stopped COLD TURKEY!

I haven't touched the stuff for more than ten years now! Good luck, bro! :)

thanks buddy but COLD TURKEY does not work for me, maybe if i am somewhere else it would, but being stuck here in the Sahara and nothing much to do plus all the other smokers keep tempting us guys who are trying to quit, will and determination are buried under the sand...

i;m smoking regularly again, but not yet the chain smoking comeback i was fearing, but i'll try doing itslowly this time and check myself everytime i go overboard...

My dad was a railroader with the B&O and liked to tell this story.
He was at work in the yards and a well-dressed man came up and asked him for a smoke saying, "I'm trying to quit."
My dad gave him a cigg but said, "Well, evidently you have the rough part beat...You've quit BUYING them."
The guy kinda chuckled and walked off. One of dad's crew came up and told him that the man was a Senior Vice-President of the company.

I have a sweet tooth, candy is hard to pass up on my part, but I said that this year I would give up candy, today the 19th I have been doing good, its hard for me to walk by the check out lane and not grap a bar of candy or cheat and eat some without telling anyone. Yesterday I took 25 cents to buy some candy for the quarter machine, but I didnt do it.

19 days candy free

i think thats a good one, i tried reading all those medical journals...

smoking attack you with a killer one-two, first a devastating left to the heart and if this does not kill you, the overhand write to the lungs will definetly be good for a KO...
