Ray Leonard would have been too much for Floyd Mayweather Jr. It would have been good while it lasted though. :)

Ray Leonard, at 147, was every bit as brilliant as Mayweather is/was at any weight.
So, talents being the same, you have to go with the naturally larger fighter.
Ray Leonard, on points.

You must have never seen Ray Leonard at 147.

ive seen him plenty of times him and mayweather are skilled technical boxers who rely on their footwork and defensive qualities

yeah i agree, this fight would be sooooo boring. The connect percentage for both fighters combined would be like 10%.

You guys are fools.

Leonard-Benitez was nothing resembling a dull fight, & Benitez was every bit as defensively sound/minded as Floyd M.

Thomas Hearns was a brilliant boxer, when he actually boxed.
Well, he boxed brilliantly against Leonard....Leonard walked him down & TKO'd him in one history's best fights.

There are TWO fights where Ray Leonard used excessive movement-
Hagler & Duran II.

You both obviously have seen little of him.

if seen him plenty of times and i agree with u on those fights but mayweather would never allow this fight to resemble those

I don't know if a 147lb Floyd could dictate things to Leonard, any more than Benitez or Hearns did.

im not saying floyd would dictate leonard would but floyd would be on the defensive

exactly, PBF's style does not resemble benitez or hearns. It is much more defensive and involves much more movement.

No love for Pretty Boy here huh? Well let me be the first to say that personally i think mayweather wins this. while they seem to be fairly even in most aspects i think that Floyd's got the edge because of his ability to put combos together with the accuracy that he does, every punch is thrown for a reason, hardly any wasted motion. If he throws a power shot it lands or else he wouldnt throw it. Not to say sugar ray has no shot, i mean if this becomes a Dance dance Revolution showdown then i'd prolly give it to leonard, but if this fight is a fight, then mayweathers got the skill to take it.

If you think that was Leonard's game, you have not seen him fight, obviously.

Speaking of something without knowledge is the definition of ignorance.

I want you guys to name every fight you know of, where Ray Leonard "danced" around the ring. I guarnatee you can ONLY come up with two.

Please.

Floyd's more defensive than Wlfred Benitez?

What the hell is going in this fantasy forum today?

Benitez fought Leonard much like Floyd would have to approach Leonard. He used a good jab, lateral movement, and good upper body defense when he elected to go at Ray in the middle rounds. Ray is on record saying that Benitez was the hardest man to hit.

Difference being Benitez was naturally larger and stronger than Mayweather, and I'm pretty comfortable in saying he had a better chin.

Leonard at 147 had everything Floyd had except for some of the defensive ability...but the difference maker would be Ray's punching power.

A really skilled elite big guy beats a really skilled elite little guy. Leonard drops Floyd twice before he leaves him down for the count in the 8th or 9th.

For real. Leonard was something special at welterweight.

So in your opinion, Gringo..
Mayweather Jr. won't last as long as Mayweather Sr. did?
