View Full Version : Most Underrated fighter(now) trinidadpr87 01-15-2005, 04:36 PM Who do you think the most underrated fighter is right now?give some reasons. The Fix 01-15-2005, 04:47 PM most underrated is right now is sugar shane cause everybody thinks he is done but i think he has some left in the tank svenottke 01-15-2005, 05:01 PM paul briggs is the best lt heavy in the world. i would favor him over johnson ,tarver,or erdi. jpboxer3 01-15-2005, 05:15 PM Glen Johnson Beat three of the Top10 Lt.Heavies this year, and still many dont have this guy in their top10 p4p. MlLkMan 01-15-2005, 05:16 PM Miguel Cotto. MlLkMan 01-15-2005, 05:25 PM or Antonio Margarito. Tha Greatest 01-15-2005, 05:59 PM most underrated is right now is sugar shane cause everybody thinks he is done but i think he has some left in the tank Shane mosley sucks! he beat dlh ONCE not twice which good opponent has he actually fought bonafuwa 01-20-2005, 01:18 AM Sammy Peter :) Well I'm just saying that cause he's my country man. The Troll 05-03-2005, 07:45 AM James Toney Vassiliy Jirov ottoevans 05-03-2005, 09:02 AM Margarito Sugar shane looked garbage against a 2nd class guy in Estrada. Cotto hasnt done anything to be rated yet, hes just been shoved down our throat so much by HBO and Top Ranks. Theres an Irish kid who faught in FNF whos KO all his opponents hes like 20-0 20ko's and looked real impressive looked like he had a lot of fire and anger in his soul but he doesnt have HBO to back him up. += El Jefe=+ 05-03-2005, 09:14 AM Who do you think the most underrated fighter is right now?give some reasons. JL Castillo he doesnt get enough recognition Martin (Top Knowledge) 05-03-2005, 09:17 AM Ricky Hatton... He's gonna shock the World on 4th June!!! DR. FREECLOUD 05-03-2005, 09:30 AM JL Castillo he doesnt get enough recognition i agree with that one. castillo is way under rated. jabsRstiff 05-03-2005, 09:31 AM Ricky Hatton... He's gonna shock the World on 4th June!!! yes....I will be shocked when he makes it to the 8th round....when I'd have thought for sure that Tszyu would had him out by the 6th. ottoevans 05-03-2005, 09:36 AM yes....I will be shocked when he makes it to the 8th round....when I'd have thought for sure that Tszyu would had him out by the 6th. hhahahahaha yeah AintGottaClue 05-03-2005, 09:53 AM felix sturm and vitali klitschko Manny_P 05-03-2005, 09:54 AM Zab Judah! I mean that doo just beat Spinks for champinoship belts for ****in $100,000 while Spinks got millions. He deserves more credit I think. Tha Greatest 05-03-2005, 10:20 AM Felix Sturm is overrated cuz he beat a old shot dlh lol Castillo and Margarito The Troll 05-03-2005, 10:25 AM Zab Judah! I mean that doo just beat Spinks for champinoship belts for ****in $100,000 while Spinks got millions. He deserves more credit I think. You really have no clue do you, Judah is the most overrated fighter if anything, if not the most, maybe top 3 at least. Super_Lightweight 05-03-2005, 11:03 AM This one is easy: Jose Luis Castillo This guy beat Floyd once, went to war and won with a seemingly best-at-135 Juan Lazcano at the time. Even in the rematch with Floyd the fight was scored very closely (even closer than the one in which Castillo clearly won). Castillo broke Julio Diaz down, and many people picked Diaz to outbox Castillo, some even to TKO him late. Castillo had a good close fight and won vs Joel Casamayor, who is an awesome gold-medal boxer and simply could not find the will-power to hold off Castillo for 12 rounds. He put some serious hurt on Casamayor which made Casa tired and allowed Castillo to win the fight. Castillo fought to a draw with awesome lightweight Stevie Johnston. Johnston split a pair of fights with a prime Cesar Bazan. Castillo brutalized and TKO'd Bazan in 6 rounds in 2001. By comparison, it took Miguel Cotto 11 rounds to do the same vs a faded Bazan. Castillo takes on all comers, odes well vs all comers, and still is not given the recognition he deserves. Atwa_66 05-03-2005, 11:05 AM paul briggs is the best lt heavy in the world. i would favor him over johnson ,tarver,or erdi. HAHA! Adamek is going to curb this fool in 5 rounds. Atwa_66 05-03-2005, 11:07 AM felix sturm and vitali klitschko Vitali is a great fighter, but he gets more attention and hype than he deserves. I personally like him, but saying his is underated is pretty crazy, I think he's rated fine, or maybe a tad overated. BrooklynBomber 05-03-2005, 11:25 AM Margarito Sugar shane looked garbage against a 2nd class guy in Estrada. The guy's name is John "Irish Ropes" Duddy and his record is only 9-0 9 ko's. He trains in my gym btw. AintGottaClue 05-03-2005, 11:55 AM Vitali is a great fighter, but he gets more attention and hype than he deserves. I personally like him, but saying his is underated is pretty crazy, I think he's rated fine, or maybe a tad overated. umm people say toney will ko vitali, that statment alone makes him underrated The Pretender 05-03-2005, 12:05 PM John Ruiz is easily the most underrated now. And by the greatest error margin considering his great skills. .::|ULTIMATE|::. 05-03-2005, 12:09 PM Jose Luis Castillo Antonio Margarito Vivian Harris (though maybe at his own fault for not taking certain fights) jack_the_rippuh 05-03-2005, 12:14 PM Sturm is not underrated, he's a good young fighter, but he has no big accomplishments. Vitali is not underrated, either. Look at his resume. triggerhappy 05-03-2005, 12:17 PM boxing is mostly about looks too. you could be the best in the world but if you dont have the right looks you wont get noticed jabsRstiff 05-03-2005, 12:20 PM boxing is mostly about looks too. you could be the best in the world but if you dont have the right looks you wont get noticed Don't project you & your father's views on boxing onto the other fans, please. Just because you two have crushes on certain fighters it doesn't mean they are or are not noticed. jack_the_rippuh 05-03-2005, 12:22 PM What are the right looks? jabsRstiff 05-03-2005, 12:25 PM What are the right looks? They're those punches thrown by southpaws.....usually after a straight left. I used to like the way Mark "Too Sharp" Johnson could double his to the body & the head............. jack_the_rippuh 05-03-2005, 12:31 PM They're those punches thrown by southpaws.....usually after a straight left. I used to like the way Mark "Too Sharp" Johnson could double his to the body & the head............. Hey....don't get smart with me. The power in each of my hands are Tyson like. jabsRstiff 05-03-2005, 12:41 PM Hey....don't get smart with me. The power in each of my hands are Tyson like. Your heart & your voice are Tyson-like also, I bet. Truth 05-03-2005, 12:53 PM James Toney Vassiliy Jirov James Toney is underrated becasue most people don't appreciate his skills. sisforshaq 05-03-2005, 02:04 PM Close a lot of good fighters out there with out any name in the big time butid have to go with James Toney for his fantasic abiltiy to roll punches, take, give and how relaxed he is in ring. Also Winky Wright is a very good underrated fighter. hugefan87 05-03-2005, 02:20 PM up until recently, antonio margarito hugefan87 05-03-2005, 02:23 PM John Duddy is awsome, i saw his last fight, what a knockout, don't know how far he'll go though. He'll probably be another calzaghe british type fighter, popular over there and nowhere else += El Jefe=+ 05-03-2005, 02:58 PM This one is easy: Jose Luis Castillo This guy beat Floyd once, went to war and won with a seemingly best-at-135 Juan Lazcano at the time. Santo 05-03-2005, 06:08 PM Im a have to go with Miguel Cotto. I think dude has a lot of potential. TheBrownBomber22 05-03-2005, 06:37 PM most underrated is right now is sugar shane cause everybody thinks he is done but i think he has some left in the tank I really hope your right, I still believe he can get it back, but I always will(huge fan). GranTorino 05-03-2005, 07:00 PM Well, I tell you, I always like to root for the underdog, and from the way he looked with Bowe's fat ass, and the ass whooping he gave him, Im hoping to see some good things from Zumbrum in the future. I would like to see him parlay his small bit of fame into something bigger. EvilMark 05-03-2005, 07:22 PM Glen Johnson AintGottaClue 05-03-2005, 07:54 PM Glen Johnson and felix sturm Zab Super Judah 05-03-2005, 07:55 PM jose luis castillo Shaolin Bushido 05-03-2005, 08:01 PM I'd say the most under-rated, off the top of my head is Cory Spinks. He was finally getting the respect he deserved before his loss to Judah and you rarely hear him mentioned as a contender these days due to it. IwatchBoxing 05-03-2005, 08:02 PM Daniel Santos. RwK 05-03-2005, 08:07 PM jose luis castillo There is no question about that. He might be one of the most underrated fighters of all time. Alpha Male 05-03-2005, 08:24 PM Im a have to go with Miguel Cotto. I think dude has a lot of potential. I disagree with you. If anything, Cotto is overrated. Way to really show em! tino 05-03-2005, 09:09 PM castillo clearly beat casamayor in my book . the fight was close but castillo was punishing casamayor in the late rounds , and the body work of castillo was punishing the whole fight Living Legend 05-03-2005, 09:16 PM castillo clearly beat casamayor in my book . the fight was close but castillo was punishing casamayor in the late rounds , and the body work of castillo was punishing the whole fight 7 rds to 5 casamayor, just because you win the last 2 rds of a boxing match doesn't mean that you won the fight...
