View Full Version : Now we know, choose between Trinidad and DLH at 160 Exciterx24 10-03-2004, 02:38 AM The fights are history. Now take your pick. I pick Trinidad by TKO. ME123 10-03-2004, 02:53 AM Trinidad Easy Ove Oscar Tko NiGe2011 10-03-2004, 03:36 AM Looking at their apparent power at middleweight and ability to take punches it is crazy to even hope for Oscar to win in the rematch... Sir_Jose 10-03-2004, 03:48 AM *rolleyes* Tito will always look good when he has a guy stand in front of him and come at him. Tito cant fight guys that move. He wasn't even competative in his fights with Hopkins and DLH. Tito cannot deal with guy who can move and he wont be if they ever fight again. PRboxingfan 10-03-2004, 03:48 AM Tito kills DLH at 160. Tito's power is devastating and Oscar can't run as much as he did in the first fight at this weight. Tito by KO in 9. Pound4Pound1986 10-03-2004, 03:50 AM i hate both *****es but i have to pick tito, dlh didnt convince me at 160 NiGe2011 10-03-2004, 03:54 AM *rolleyes* Tito will always look good when he has a guy stand in front of him and come at him. Tito cant fight guys that move. He wasn't even competative in his fights with Hopkins and DLH. Tito cannot deal with guy who can move and he wont be if they ever fight again. Problem is that I think there are two things that Mayorga can do better then DeLaHoya at middleweight- and it is correct that moving around is not one of them. 1) Mayorga probably can take the better shots- Mayorga is a power punch, end of story... In DLH's fight with Hopkins, Oscar hit Hopkins with everything but the kitchen sink and Bernard was not even phased. 2) Take punishment- steel jawed Mayorga was able to take most of Tito's shots for eight rounds, except for the blistering hooks to the body. Now if only I could think of another jr. middleweight who was fighting a big name at 160 and looked like he could not handle punches downstairs.... hmmmmm..... Sir_Jose 10-03-2004, 03:56 AM will DLH stand in front of Tito? Its not like this ios some kind of new theory. Its a fact he does not do well when guys move on him. tayloure 10-03-2004, 06:26 AM Tito look stronger and more comfortable at Middleweight. IMO Hopkins could have done more damage to DLH if he had open up earlier and hadn't paid too much respect to him. Trinidad by having that rest may have given himself a couple more years in the sport and look fresh and ready while DLH look old and worned out. Supafly25 10-03-2004, 07:36 AM Even though ODLH doesnt look 2 powerful at 160 i still pick him 2 beat Trinidad by decision. Dont know why but i just got that feeling. Peace CrawleR 10-03-2004, 07:52 AM Well,i think itīs obvious that if DLH fights at 160 it wonīt do him good again,he should drop weight cause hes fights with Sturm and Hopkins were a failure. He should drop weight or he will have another loss on hes record, that being said,i really like the guy,heīs got heart and balls to fight anyone. ;) snoopy360 10-03-2004, 10:08 AM The reason DLH didn't box Hopkins and decided to take the fight to him is because that all he can do. At 160 there is no way DLH has the stamina to stay away from Tito all night long and box like he did in the first fight. DLH's stamina is gone and thats what caused the most amount of damage. The body shot proved that the extra weight isn't helping oscar at all and he needs to move down in weight. Mosely hit Oscar with everything he had to the body and DLH wasn't hurt. A glancing blow by B-Hop and he is down for the count you do the math. Exciterx24 10-03-2004, 10:48 AM Tito kills DLH at 160. Tito's power is devastating and Oscar can't run as much as he did in the first fight at this weight. Tito by KO in 9. I don't think DLH would last. His stamina was bad and at 160 is worse. So,I agree with you. Trinidad is Back!!! grayfist 10-03-2004, 11:36 AM No brainer!!! Tito!!! NichtGeflechten 10-03-2004, 11:40 AM It would only be a 10 round fight...I'll take DelaHollywood. jayr517 10-03-2004, 11:46 AM It would only be a 10 round fight...I'll take DelaHollywood. Why would it only be a 10 round fight? DLH had a speed advantage at 160, and more power to keep Tito at bay. Tito hasn't lost any power at 160 and he looks just as comfortable. DLH doesn't have the speed or the power at 160 to do what he did in their first fight. I think Tito would keep walking him down until DLH started getting hit in the later rounds. Tito by TKO in the late rounds, or a lopsided decision with DLH going down at least once. mic573 10-03-2004, 11:52 AM Middleweight is the best chance for Tito to beat Oscar. He already said he wouldn't make a catch weight so Oscar is out of luck there. MayweatherII 10-03-2004, 12:15 PM *rolleyes* Tito will always look good when he has a guy stand in front of him and come at him. Tito cant fight guys that move. He wasn't even competative in his fights with Hopkins and DLH. Tito cannot deal with guy who can move and he wont be if they ever fight again. EXACTLY, I agree with you prtynacan 10-03-2004, 01:11 PM Wow - talk about jumping to conclusions after Tito has a fight with a guy who was tailored made for him. Mayorga has Gatti like defense - he comes forward, throws wildly and has iron in his chin. When you do that against a guy with power and skills, like Tito, and are at a weight you've never fought at (showing a loss of power and stamina) you're simply not going to win, (much like how Gatti was destroyed by De la hoya when he moved up). Based on this fight, people think all of a sudden that Tito can "destroy" De La Hoya - an all time great with incredibly quick hands, solid power and great boxing skills. De la Hoya dominated Trinidad in 8 rounds of their first fight. Trinidad doesn't have a great chin, and he can be hit, especially by a guy with a great jab like De la Hoya. I also love how everyone thinks De la Hoya can't fight at 160 because of his performances against two of the top guys in the division, not to mention one of the best middleweights in history in Hopkins. It's not like Trinidad fared much better against Hopkins - I'd say De la Hoya arguably won more rounds against Hopkins than trinidad did. I'm not a huge De la Hoya fan, but come on - let's keep this in perspective - Tito's win over Mayorga was impressive, but it in no way suggests that Tito can suddenly destroy the likes of De la Hoya or present a much greater challenge to Hopkins than he did the first fight. It would at least be a strongly competitive bout - no way it would be as easy as against Mayorga. Hurlex 10-03-2004, 01:22 PM tito no doubt..like mayorga ..dlg is not a MW..and atleast mayo got up..i dont think dlh would have from that body shot... tito within 6-7 Tha Greatest 10-03-2004, 01:30 PM WHY do they have to fight at 160 and oscar will **** him up u ****in idiots!! jayr517 10-03-2004, 01:36 PM WHY do they have to fight at 160 and oscar will **** him up u ****in idiots!! There's some sheer maturity there for you! The articulation, the witty retorts, you're an obviously an extremely sophisticated individual Greatest!!! LOL mic573 10-03-2004, 01:43 PM WHY do they have to fight at 160 and oscar will **** him up u ****in idiots!! They have to fight at 160 because Tito has already said he isn't fighting below middleweight. Oscar didn't **** him up in the first fight and it's really unlikely he will do it at 160. Oscar beats Tito from 154 down but at 160 Tito will beat Oscar. .::|ULTIMATE|::. 10-03-2004, 01:46 PM Tito KO. DLH has always lacked some self confidence but now its downright sad. Add to it the fact some bum from the street trains him, and his old natural ability is nearly gone.. i see DLH quiting with a shot as an excuse. grayfist 10-03-2004, 01:49 PM The thread starter gave 160 as given. Oscar hasn't shown anything worth anything at that weight, whether entering the ring at 150-odd or anything near 160. Trinidad appears to have just done something. When shown nothing vs. something, most sane thinking people choose something, I presume.... Memorex 10-03-2004, 03:46 PM tito fought like he always fought mayo was standing right in front of him no **** hes gonna land all those punches mayo wasnt even covering up. dlh is a superior boxer and he does have a punch he will out class tito and the second time around he wont let the same mistake happen by running dlh 11th round tko jack_the_rippuh 10-03-2004, 03:57 PM I pick De La Hoya in this match-up. Any more questions? Exciterx24 10-03-2004, 09:47 PM tito fought like he always fought mayo was standing right in front of him no **** hes gonna land all those punches mayo wasnt even covering up. dlh is a superior boxer and he does have a punch he will out class tito and the second time around he wont let the same mistake happen by running dlh 11th round tko DLH TKO?? Dude it's damn obvious that you are a Mexican. TheRealist 10-03-2004, 09:54 PM i like de la hoya is this fight, ovously tito cannot fight fighters who box well against him, de la hoya set the blue print in the first fight on how to beat trinidad witch in my opinion did win the fight but didnt finish like a champ, hopkins took the same blue print as oscar into his fight with tito and dominated tito the way oscar did in the first 9 rounds then knocked tito out. This is the fight oscar wants more than anything, both are not natural middlewaights so dlh in my opinion would win UD TheRealist 10-03-2004, 09:59 PM I Hear tito is back!! all the time, yea he is back but he will never beat hopkins at any waieght. so tito better fight oscar whinky or a rematch with mayorga would be good also, i dont think he wants to fight hopkins again. muay 10-03-2004, 10:25 PM *rolleyes* Tito will always look good when he has a guy stand in front of him and come at him. Tito cant fight guys that move. He wasn't even competative in his fights with Hopkins and DLH. Tito cannot deal with guy who can move and he wont be if they ever fight again. I agree. Styles makes fights. But I pick Trinidad by TKO this time against de la Hoya (if he opts to fight & trade punches - be a macho man). Otherwise, by a close decision win again. Palma 10-04-2004, 06:01 AM Damn! Missed the fight. Was it a good slug fest? Damn! I know I made a bet with someone and I don't remember who it was. Who ever it was please let me know so I caqn honor the bet. I said I would donate all my cash to you if Tito won.  Anyone have photos of the fight?? Palma 10-04-2004, 06:02 AM I still choose DLH over Tito. Tito would train like a mad man for the fight and he would come out bangin. |
