I lay underneathe shallow bed
On summer nights I begin to tread
Watch closely and soon I become one
Saying my name can extinguish the sun
You can tell me to do something right
But get too close and I just might bite
The forest is empty when you hear my cry
I have 3 legs, but only 1 eye
What am I?
