What totally changed hip hop or had the most effect on the masses? Honestly, I gotta say Regulate the G Funk Era because it introduced G Funk to the world, which IMO is tight music that EVERYBODY can vibe too. Good production, beats, flow, rhymes, the whole mix. It's too bad Warren G is so average.

The most influential albums to hip hop came in the early 70's with George Clinton's Parliament / Funkadelic. Without Clinton, much of Hip Hop as it exsists today wouldn't be as it is.

That's what I was going to say. NWA broke down alot of boundaries. It's when alot of people started to notice there was great music outside of New York.
