They are filming the new movie version of "The Dukes Of Hazzard" around the corner from my house as I type this, right now they are filming a scene on the banks of the old Mississippi River, which is about 500 yards from my house. Jessica Simson is playing "Daisy Duke" and Johnny Knoxville is in it along with the guy who played Stiffler from "American Pie" fame.

I will see if I can get some pics of Jessica this morning.

Actually they film movies here in New Orleans all the time, in fact this is the second movie that has been shot at that location in the last 6 months. Not sure what it was called though.

Another movie starring some chick name Lindsey Lohan is being shot during Mardi Gras in just a few weeks and you can all look to see me in it as I will be doing a cameo in that one - if my part makes it past the "cutting room" that is. I am told that one will be called "Lucky Lady" or something like that.

If anyone remembers the last scene in "Interview With A Vampire" when Tom Cruise pops up in the back seat of the car and bites Christian Slater as the car weaves all over that bridge - well my house is located under the west end of that bridge!

We call the bridge the "G.N.O." it separates the east bank from the west bank (of the Miss. River) in New Orleans - I live on the westbank.

It is the same bridge featured in the Kid Rock video of "Only God Know Why" when he sings the part "take me to the river" in the song - he shot the whole video in New Orleans.

No I don't think the house will be shown, but here are a couple of pics I took this morning at 5:30 a.m. of the bridge and the view of Downtown New Orleans from the corner of my street.

The street itself is Mardi Gras Blvd. and at the end of the street is the building that all of the elaborate floats that you see during Mardi Gras are made. Every float, for every parade goes right past my house on it's way to the various parade starting points.

This is also the corner that the drive by killings happened a week or so ago so close to my house, the killers turned themselves in this week.

...If I head to New Orleans in the next couple of years I know who I'm gonna call. Nothing like having a local to give you the real deal and steer you in the right direction. :)

Sure come on down to the Big Easy, I will be glad to show y'all around, it's a great city, but it's a dangerous one too, a block or two in the wrong direction can get you killed here, it happens everyday in New Orleans I am sad to say. For years New Orleans has been either at the top or very near it for the most murders per capita than any city in the country. I have seen as many as five seperate murders in one night around the city, but I would say we average 2 or 3 per day everyday of the year.

Mostly it's the hood rats killing each other, like this last summer when three thugs with AK47s decided to throw down at a car wash, as luck would have it, security cameras caught the whole thing on film, but there are lots of tourists that get killed here every year as well. I heard fewer gunshots at night when I lived in L.A. or even when I lived in Oakland Cali.!
